Plot Summary
In the Valhalla expansion for the God of War Ragnarok game, Tyr invites his former companion, Kratos, to the titular Valhalla. Kratos, who is still struggling with adapting to his new role as God of Peace, takes Mimir with him to once again face the demons of his past.
Tyr's trials evoke memories that are still a source of guilt for the hero of the God of War series. Between trails, Kratos confronts Tyr, who encourages him to forgive himself. Despite his story being riddled with bloody and painful memories, Tyr reminds Kratos of how Pandora (the daughter of Hephaestus) sacrificed herself and how the hero restored hope to the world after Zeus had condemned it.
As the events unfold, Kratos comes to the conclusion that rather than being the God of Peace, he should become the God of Hope. After assuming his new post, Kratos enters a new pantheon led by Freya. In the end, with his ascension to the throne, he achieves the peace he craves.
