This page of the God of War Ragnarok game guide contains a high-quality interactive map of the Midgard realm - one of the lands available in the game. We have marked all the most important locations on the map - these include secrets and collectibles(artifacts, Odin's ravens, lore, legendary chests, Nornir chests), side activities (Berserker Gravestones, Draugr Holes, Yggdrasil rifts), favors (optional quests) and mystic gateways (fast travel). Using our interactive map will help you explore Midgard in 100 percent.
Our guide also includes maps showing other regions of the game:
First visit to Midgard in main story
The game begins in Midgard, but the realm can't be freely explored right away. The same thing applies when Atreus first appears there alone.
You can start freely exploring the icy Midgard after starting The Word of Fate main quest, during which Kratos will follow the Nornir trail to find the Well of Urd.
You won't be able to reach everything the Lake of Nine and the Shores of Nine have to offer right away. Some of the areas are inaccessible until you make enough progress in the story. Kratos may not yet, e.g. have a spear used for exploration.
Collectibles and side activities
You can find different types of secrets while exploring Midgard. These include:
- Artifacts;
- Lore;
- Odin's Ravens - use ranged attacks to get rid of them;
- Nornir Chests - you need to quickly destroy glyphs in the area;
- Legendary Chests - inside you can find rare loot, such as new attacks or crafting materials.
There are also various side activities to unlock in Midgard, including:
- Yggdrasil Rifts - you have to close them;
- Draugr Holes - each such location is guarded by a mini-boss;
- Berserker Gravestones - Kratos must face one or more strong bosses.
Hidden areas in Midgard
There aren't any major hidden areas in Midgard, those some are unlocked later than others. One such location is Tyr's Temple which you'll visit very late in the game (you no longer need it to travel between realms in GoW Ragnarok).
