We have marked all the important locations on the map - these include secrets and collectibles (Odin's ravens, legendary chests, Nornir chests, lore), side activities (Crucible with various different challenges), favors (optional quests) and mystic gateways (fast travel). Using our interactive map will help you explore Muspelheim in 100 percent.
Our guide also includes maps showing other regions of the game:
First visit to Muspelheim in main story
Muspelheim is a fiery realm filled with lava. You'll visit it twice during the main storyline:
- In the Into the Fire main quest you'll search Muspelheim for the mask as Atreus. You won't be able to access many areas, which means you won't be able to access many secrets and optional locations either.
- In The Summoning main quest you'll search for Surtr's Forge as Kratos. At this point you'll be able to thoroughly explore the realm, including the areas you've already played through as Atreus.
Collectibles and side activities
You can find different types of secrets while exploring Muspelheim. These include:
- Lore;
- Odin's Ravens - you can kill them with ranged attacks;
- Nornir chests - they are opened by destroying nearby glyphs;
- Legendary Chests - you will find unique loot in them, such as new attacks or rare crafting materials.
Hidden areas in Muspelheim
Muspelheim's most important secret area is the Crucible. This area is separated from the rest of the realm and is home to Crucible challenges, rewarding you with unique resources and gear.
Accessing the Crucible and its challenges is quite complicated and requires the Muspelheim seed - we've described the entire process on the How to unlock the challenges in Muspelheim in the FAQ section.
