Saint of the Slums is a quest in DD2 received from one of the nuns who take care of the afflicted poor in the slums of Vernworth. To solve the quest, you're going to need to take a longer journey in search of answers. On this page of our guide, we show what to do step by step to complete the quest successfully.

How to activate the Saint of the Slums mission?
To activate the mission, go to the slums area located in western Vernworth. The person you need to talk to is Elena, who can be found in the vicinity of Gracious Hand hospital for the poor. You'll find the habit-wearing nun talking to a Beastern whose son has fallen ill. Approach Elena after she finishes her conversation, and she will tell you of a difficult situation in the shelter.
You'll be asked to help. Your task will be to find and deliver 3 units of Miasmite - a special ingredient that will be used to produce the needed medicine.
How to find Miasmite?
If you don't have the Miasmite already on you, the easiest way of getting it is by defeating Phantoms. These undead enemies manifest in the form of shiny specters and they may leave the resource when defeated.
If you're currently in the city limits, wait for sunrise, and under the cover of night, go outside the city walls. Phantoms appear quite often near roads linking various locations in Vermund. Additionally, from our experience, a good area to go hunting for them is a little north from Vernworth. The specters clearly stand out from the dark thanks to their luminous appearance.
The enemies levitate above the ground and their movements are quick, so to fight them we recommend employing a team member who specializes in ranged combat (mage or archer).
How to find the necessary evidence?
After delivering 3 units of Miasmite to Elena, the woman will offer to show you around the hospital. During the tour, you'll be introduced to Lubomir, one of the patients. Once the woman has wandered away, Lubomir will talk to you and reveal his suspicions regarding the darker side of Gracious Hand. You'll receive a task to investigate a suspicious room which is used to house chronically ill patients. You can additionally talk to Abbess Lottie who will tell you about the basement of the hospital.
The stairs you need to take are left from the entrance to Gracious Hand. Approach the last room on the right and go through the door. Inside, you'll find feverish patients and a small office. Pick up the "Unlabeled Medicine" from the table, and the "Records of Treatment" from the bookshelf. Your next task will be to find Bruno and Jehan who are listed on the found document.
If you encounter Elena along the way to the sick room warning you against entering, you can ignore her. Go by her and enter the room.
The men can be found in Walter's Tavern, in northern part of the slums. Bruno will reveal that Elena regularly meets with a mysterious man in the residential district.
Thanks to the new information, you can now go during the night to the meeting spot in the residential district. When you approach Elena and the man, a short cutscene depicting a suspicious transaction will play. Go back to Ludomir and present him with all the collected information. Concerned, the Beastern will ask you to soeak to Dr. Radcliffe.
How to find Dr. Radcliffe?
Doctor Radcliffe can be found in Border Rest Town - a settlement located on the border between Vermund and Battahl. The easiest and fastest way to get there is by riding an Oxcart. Oxcarts depart from the station at the western gate of Vernworth.
After arriving to Border Rest Town, go to the doctor's house. You can find it in the southern part of the settlement. After a brief conversation and handing the suspicious medicine, the man will agree to help and ask you to return after some time. Go to the nearby inn or wait a day using one of the settlement benches.
After you return to Radcliffe, he will reveal that the "medicine" in question is actually a highly addictive poison. With this knowledge, you can return to the Vernworth slums to arrest the perpetrator Elena.
How to catch Elena?
Return to Gracious Hand and find Elena. Once you have located her, knock her down or grab her (using the same button you use to climb an opponent or grab items). The culprit will try to wrestle, but after a short while, a cut-scene will play where the guards informed of the developments will escort the poisoner Elena to the dungeons. This will conclude the quest, leaving you with a reward - 11,000 G and 1,600 XP.
