The first story arc of Dragons Dogma 2 consists of discovering the plans of the Queen Regent Disa, and the false Sovran serving her. After completing several tasks assigned by your main ally, Captain Brant, he will inform you about the upcoming coronation of the usurper and suggest you pay him a visit. This is the first point of no return in the game - after passing it, the game world will change irreversibly in a certain way. On this page of the guide, we described the point of no return, what the coronation looks like and what activities become unavailable after starting the quest.
Point of no return
- Coronation becomes available after completing several quests for Captain Brant. When you bring up the topic, he will ask you to wear elegant clothes (Courtly Tunic and Courtly Breeches - you should have found these clothes by completing the previous tasks for the captain). Then, let him know when you are ready to face the impostor. He will also warn you to take care of all your assignments before going to the coronation.
- This warning suggests a point of no return - once you go to the coronation, some of the game's content will become unavailable. The coronation will not take place until you let Brant know that you are ready, so you don't need to hurry.
- When attending the coronation, you won't face any difficult fights or even any decisions, only a few cut-scenes. After the coronation is over, you can explore the world again as you like. You will also receive your first Portcrystal, which you can place anywhere to use fast travel, as well as a border pass, which will allow you to enter the neighboring country - Battahl.
- However, the point of no return has a major impact on quests - many of them will become unavailable. These are all the remaining quests of Captain Brant, as well as quests in Vernworth and Melve. Ulrika's and Wilhelmina's personal quests will also disappear from the game. It is also possible that you will lose access to tasks in Harve Village and in the elf village. Before you go to the coronation, you should complete all the tasks in Vermund that interest you and carefully explore the entire country. The coronation will change the setting of the game from Vermund to Battahl.
