Avowed: All Strangled Adra locations - map

Finding Strangled Adra is one of the optional activities in Avowed. On this page of our guide, you will find a list of all 5 Adra Pillars along with their locations and what you can get by interacting with them. Finding all 5 pillars will additionally unlock the Pillars of Eternity achievement.

#1 Dawnshore

All Strangled Adra locations in Dawnshore:

Reach the southeastern part of the region and find the well-hidden entrance to the Precarious Hold; it is shown in the screenshot. It is next to the Emerald Stair Gatehouse.

As you progress through the Precarious Hold, you must solve puzzles involving electricity. You will have to activate generators, as shown in the screenshot. You can throw electric grenades or use electricity-based skills/spells to do this. This will activate each generator and ensure power supply.

A linear path will lead you to the hill with the Adra Pillar. Touching the Strangled Adra will trigger a conversation with the Voice. After completing it, you will receive XP and 1 Adra: a rare material used to increase quality levels of items.

#2 Emerald Stair

All Strangled Adra locations in Emerald Stair:

Reach the Grim Wetlands in the western part of the region. Here you need to climb and get to the small hill with the Adra Pillar shown in the screenshot.

Touching the Strangled Adra will result in another conversation with the Voice. Your rewards will unlock too: XP and 1 Awakened Adra (a rare variety of Adra).

#3 Shatterscarp

All Strangled Adra locations in the Shatterscarp:

Your destination is the Broken Crown Rock, which is part of the Great Sand Sea area in the southeastern part of the region.

Once there, you will need to locate the spiderwebs shown in the screenshot and set them on fire with any attack or fire spell. This will allow you to crouch and squeeze through to the other side.

You need to jump to the far ledge, thanks to which you will reach the Adra Pillar shown in the screenshot. Touching the Strangled Adra will trigger a conversation with the Voice and you will gain XP and 1 Corrupted Adra (an even rarer form of Adra).

#4 Galawain's Tusks

All Strangled Adra locations in Galawain's Tusks:

You need to explore the southern part of the Sallow Steppe area. It is not far to the east of where you begin exploring the fourth region. You just need to climb higher rocks and eventually you will reach the rock shelf with the Adra Pillar (see the screenshot above).

Touching Strangled Adra triggers a conversation with the Voice and gives you XP and 1 Adra Ban (the rarest variety of Adra, used to upgrade items to legendary quality).

#5 Garden

All Strangled Adra locations in the Garden:

This Adra Pillar is on a higher rocky ledge in the northeastern part of the Broken Aqueduct. There's no easy way to climb up there.

Start north of the aqueduct - in the water. Sail from there to the southeast and find the brambles blocking the passage (see the screenshot above). The first action is to ignite the brambles with any ranged fire attack.

The second step is to create an ice platform on the water (see the screenshot above): use an ice grenade or any ice spell/skill. This will allow you to jump from the platform to a new passage that was previously blocked by the brambles.

Follow the upper rock ledge south until you reach the Adra Pillar in the screenshot. This time, in addition to another conversation with the Voice, you will receive XP and the Pillars of Eternity achievement (if you have also discovered the 4 previous Strangled Adras).
