Avowed: How to reset abilities and respec your character?

Resetting your abilities in Avowed can be a huge help in case you end up regretting some of your decisions and have purchased abilities that ultimately turn out to be unhelpful. On this page of the guide you will learn how to respec. We have described resetting the attributes and abilities both of the protagonist and party members.

Protagonist's attributes and abilities reset

1. You can reset your hero's development and regain development points at any point in the game. You don't have to reach any specific location or meet any character to do this.
2. You can reset attributes and abilities separately (all development trees at once). These are two different activities and each of them is paid for separately. For example, you can reset abilities only if you are satisfied with the current distributions and values of your hero's attributes.
3. Open the protagonist's abilities or attributes tab. In the lower left corner you'll find information about how much the reset currently costs (it is paid for in gold): it's 250 gold in the example in the screenshot. The more development points you have spent, the more you have to pay for the entire procedure.

1. You must press the appropriate button (Y on the pad), confirm the respec and the payment. You will get all your abilities and/or attribute points back. This will allow you to allocate them again from scratch.

Respec of Companions Abilities

1. Progress reset is not only possible for the main character. You can also reset abilities for recruited companions (excluding temporary companions from the prologue quest).
2. You'll need to go to the Companion Abilities tab, highlight your chosen companion, hit the reset button, and spend gold. Fortunately, this should be a much cheaper operation than resetting the main character's skills.
