How to unlock the Emerald Stair region?
You cannot travel to the second region immediately after starting the adventure and completing the prologue. You must follow the main story in the first region - Dawnshore.
Eventually, you will start The Animanancy Method main quest - a bridge will be unlocked, serving as the passage to the Emerald Stair.
Fios mes Iverno
Fios mes Iverno is a large city in the Emerald Stair region and you can find it in the region's center. Large gates lead to the city and this place is treated as a separate location - you will find them at the bottom of our interactive map.
In Fios mes Iverno you can find merchants and quest givers. Later in the game, there will be an attack near the city, but this will not block your access to it, so you do not have to rush to visit all of its districts.
Fast Travel Points
The Emerald Stair region contains Fast Travel Beacons - you can activate them by approaching them. Discovered fast travel points are visible on the map. Fast travel is free.
You will find a separate page on this topic in our guide: Is there fast travel?.
Party Camps
There are several Adra Waystones in the Emerald Stair region. Touching such an object for the first time will unlock the ability to create a party camp in that location.
Party camp allows you to restore your health and essence. You can also meet up with your party members, change their appearance, store unnecessary items in the Party Stash, upgrade and enchant gear, and construct totems.
Totem Fragments
Our interactive map shows 6 Totem Fragments and a Totem Core - important collectibles to find in Emerald Stair. Once you return to your party camp, you can build a totem and unlock various passive stat bonuses.
If you are looking for more information about totems, you will find it on the page: All totem fragments.
Treasure Maps
Treasure hunting is one of the optional activities in Emerald Stair. We primarily provide information on where to buy or find treasure maps. We also show the locations of treasures marked on these maps.
Companion
The Emerald Stair region allows you to recruit one new companion, Giatta. We recommend that you read her description on our interactive map. You will find out where Giatta is and when exactly she can join your party.
Traders, NPCs
The Emerald Stair region has a few traders. They are most often found in cities and villages, but they also appear in smaller locations. Among their offer you can find: weapons, armor, consumables, medicines, lockpicks, treasure maps and crafting materials. In addition, you can also sell them unnecessary items from your inventory.
From the interactive map you will also learn about NPCs you can talk to. By doing that you can, for example, receive a small gift or learn about an event.
Main Quests, Side Quests, Bounties
The main reason to visit the Emerald Stair is to continue the main story quests, but you can also look for side quests. They have their own separate tabs in the journal. For optional quests, you need to reach the quest giver or collect a quest item: our interactive map shows all these locations.
In Emerald Stair, you can do next Bounties that can be collected from the Bounty Board. These involve killing bosses or groups of elite enemies. We've also marked other bosses on the map that you can encounter during quests or free exploration.
Locked Chests & Doors, Keys
While exploring the Emerald Stair you will encounter locked chests, doors, and gates. The most obvious option is to find a key, and we've marked all such quest items on the map. An alternative is to use lockpicks - you will find out how many of them are needed.
Dungeons and Entrances
In addition to exploring the surface areas in Emerald Stair, you can also explore dungeons and separate underground locations. Some of them may be related to the main storyline, although most of them are optional. Exploring dungeons can lead to completing side quests, boss encounters, or collecting unique loot.
Chests, Adra, Unique Equipment
Lockboxes, Chests, and Backpacks are just some of the containers in the game with various loot, such as gold, equipment, or crafting materials. You can learn their locations thanks to our map.
Adra is a particularly rare crafting material, and you'll learn some examples of where you can find or purchase these green crystals.
Our map also shows where unique equipment is hidden - weapons, armor, amulets, rings, gloves and boots. Many of them offer very helpful stat bonuses.
