Find and Reach the Clever Fox Tavern

This mission begins in the northern area of Paris. You can easily find the tavern by using your raven. Charles, the man you're looking for, was last seen inside.

Explore the tavern for clues to Charle's location

Enter the tavern and search it, making sure to talk to a few people. You should start with the jester, as he'll tell you Charles is renting a room in the tavern.

Go up to the second floor. You'll need to go through the window - climb the wall and destroy some wooden planks blocking your path. There you will find the keys.

With the keys in hand return to the tavern, go upstairs and open the door. You'll enter Charles' room. All you need to do is read the scroll on the left side of the bed. With this info, go meet Toka.

Find and speak to Charles the Fat

Head to the amphitheater with Toka. Inside you can eliminate all enemies or leave them be.

You need to find a staircase leading to the lower level of the amphitheater. A cutscene will begin - you can choose a dialogue option but it won't influence the conversation.

Afterwards return to Paris and talk to Toka to finish the mission.
