The traitor, King Ricsige, has been exposed and it seems that the conspiracy has disappeared for good.
Rewards: 3400 XP.
Return to the Royal Hall
Go to the royal headquarters in Jorvik to attend the coronation ceremony of Halfdan as the new king. As it turns out, the jarl isn't here. Moira will inform you that Halfdan went out with Faravid.
Both men can be found on the city walls. Talk to Halfdan and then go with him to the royal headquarters. If you do not want to participate in activities related to the holiday, talk to the jarl immediately to start the ceremony.
During the ceremony, Halfdan will start to cough and release the cup from his hand. It turns out that the cup was made of lead - toxic metal. It was the chalices from which the jarl drank that were the source of his illness - Faravid is the most likely suspect. You can take the side of one of them.
- You are insane, Halfdan: you tell Halfdan to stop - Eivor will also be accused of treason. Jarl throws a hammer in anger at the people gathered in the hall, and Faravid says he will not follow the king who considers him a traitor. The warrior is banished by Halfdan and is not to appear in these lands anymore. Eivor goes out after Faravid to say goodbye;
- Stand down or fight me, Faravid: you say that treason can never go unpunished - this leads to a fight with Faravid.
Defeat Faravid
Faravid is a very able warrior who has mastered fighting with a long sword. His attacks are fluent and can be mixed into combinations that deal a lot of damage.
During the duel focus on attacking weak points - in the case of this opponent, these are head and right foot. Hitting them will stun Faravid.
This opens the way for a powerful attack that will immediately deplete the boss' health bar by about 1/3.
Most special Faravid attacks are indicated by a yellow rune flash and can be blocked or paired. Attacks that are preceded by red rune flash have to avoided completely.
Faravid has one trick at his sleeve that can make the fight a little bit more difficult. The boss uses smoke bombs, which can be thrown in any direction After the explosion they form a smoke screen, which limits visibility, making it harder to guess the enemy's intentions.
Like most of the bosses that you'll have to fight in Assassin 's Creed Valhalla, Faravid has the ability to heal. When a white aura appears, and the boss starts to drink from a bottle, it means he is starting to regenerate his health. Hit your opponent immediately to break the effect of the treatment.
When you defeat Faravid, instead of finishing him, Eivor will bring him to Halfdan, who will judge him. Faravid refuses to fight with the jarl, saying that he always let him win so this time he will do the same. Halfdan will crush his old friend's head in anger and this is how Faravid's life will end. It is not known if he was really a traitor. Eivor will gain another ally and the mission will end. As a reward you will receive 1700 XP.
If you wonder if the first solution (taking Faravid's side) will bring the answer to whether Faravid really betrayed his jarl, the answer is no. When Eivor asks about it, the man will mysteriously answer that he hopes to raise his spears together one day and drives away in an unknown direction.
