Assassin's Creed Valhalla Guide and Walkthrough
Welcome to Valhalla! Assassin's Creed Valhalla guide, walkthrough contains tips and hints. Tips concern things like combat, secrets, weapons, exploration, and the Drakkar. We also have guide to Eivor's choices, system requirements, keybinds and a trophy.
Last update: 19 April 2024
The following guide to Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a source of thorough information about the next installment of the popular action game series, this time focusing on the Viking Age and their conquests in England, France and other European countries. Thanks to our guide, you'll get acquainted with all the basic gameplay mechanics, be able to access the walkthroughs for all main and side quests, find 100% of the secrets and obtain the platinum trophy.
The first major section of this guide is the game guide, which introduces the player to the basic mechanics of AC Valhalla. Here, you will learn the all there is aboutcombat, stealth, exploration, sailing, crafting, settlement development, winning in Orlog dice minigame, and developing Eivor. We've also supplied information about the Order of the Ancients (clues, members, maegesters, zealots, the grand maegester), raiding, important decisions, and romances (Petra, Broder, Randvi, Estrid, Tewdwr, Vili, and Stigr)
The next chapter, the FAQ section, answers the most frequently asked questions about the game - answers are grouped based on the topic they broach. Among other things, you'll find out who betrayed Rollo, where to find the yellow ship, how to change Eivor's gender, which skills are the most useful, how to accumulate XP and gold, means of healing what the suggested region power means, how to get resources for crafting, how to open chests, how to engage in raids, whether the game requires you togrind how to get to Asgard and Vinland, and which settlement buildings should be chosen first based on their usefulness.
As expected, we supplied a complete solution for all main and optional missions. The walkthrough lists the mission objectives, helps when facing bosses, and marks important choices and the consequences stemming from them. A separate section was introduced listing all the endings and finales of the main plotlines, including the fate of England, and further actions of heroes such asGuthrum and King Aelfred).
The fourth main part of the guide will be surely the one most visited, as it broaches the subject of attaining 100% completion of the game, which involves obtaining/unlocking various secrets and collectibles. First of all, we prepared world atlas maps, which portray all major regions of Norway, England, Vinland and Asgard. All collectibles and secrets are divided into sections based on their category - among them, treasure maps, books of knowledge, unique items, Treasures of Britain, legendary animal encounters, Animus anomalies, Flytings, Standing Stones (Seahenge and others) or Roman artifacts.
Another major chapter is dedicated to story expansions and DLCs for the game, including Wrath of the Druids, Siege of Paris, Dawn of Ragnarok, River Raids (quests such as The Legend of St. George and Treasures of the River Exe), Master Challenges and Crossover Stories. Here, you'll learn how to unlock the DLC content, find walkthroughs for new missions, and obtain the locations of additional secrets and items (such as Hreidmar's blessed armor set), as well as what new mechanics the DLCs introduce.
Finally, the guide is complemented by an Appendix section, which includes an achievement/trophy guide(useful when attempting to obtain the platinum trophy i.e. unlocking all achievements in the game), detailed controls listing, system requirements, the topic of next-gen patches for both PS5 and Xbox Series X, as well as sections dedicated to bugs and technical issues, photo mode, and a short commentary on the length of Assassin's Creed: Valhalla.

AC Valhalla: Quick starting tips
Below you will find some of the most important tips for people starting their adventure with AC Valhalla:
- You can choose difficulty levels for combat, stealth and exploration separately, customizing the experience to your liking. If, for example, you only have problems with combat, you can lower its difficulty. The difficulty level can be changed at any moment through the main menu.
- Make sure to complete side quests and explore the map in search of collectibles intermittently with participating in the main story. These activities will allow you to get more XP, resulting in more skill points, which are needed to increase your power level and thus pledge to higher difficulty regions.
- Find Books of Knowledge to unlock and/or upgrade your abilities. These abilities will help you in combat, especially when facing stronger bosses or legendary animals.
- Upgrade gear on a regular basis. To upgrade gear to a higher tier, you need to obtain ingots of the right quality and take them to Gunnar the Blacksmith, - spending the required number of ingots will unlock additional upgrade slots. These slots can be filled by spending materials, improving the item statistics and unlocking additional rune slots.
- Watch what you are building in Ravensthorpe, at least at the beginning, as the raw materials obtained from raiding the monasteries are limited. There are buildings that are more useful than others, e.g. the Hidden Ones' office, which serves its purpose during the main story, and gives access to the Order of the Ancients plotline.
- Save game before each conversation - there may be some important decision to be made during it - this way, you can protect yourself from bad decision fallout. Many times, the game offers you a choice: from a few dialogue options which effect is cosmetic at best, as well as important decisions that affect the course of the entire story and its ending. An exemplary bad choice can result in death of an NPC, or enrage the person you're talking to. Saving and reloading can help you avoid some of the fallout.
For more hints and tips, check out the Starting tips chapter.
AC Valhalla: All story missions
The story is divided into independent arcs, but all quests listed here have to be completed in order to finish the game. The only thing that can be changed is the order in which you complete them.
