This upgrade doesn't offer any tangible benefits in the form of equipment, but if you visit it often enough, you can complete the game at a very high experience level which translates into additional combat abilities and increased battle performance. This upgrade is recommended especially to the players who side with the Rebels and those who take the path of chaos since most quests will have us use force in these two cases. While performing the said scenarios, you will have to draw the blade more often and therefore high character level will prove helpful in completing the game.

The Training Grounds offers no researches but it will systematically provide you with Hide which is required for armor upgrades. If you decided to build the Forge first, then you can buy the Training Grounds in the next Spire. Even if you don't hire any recruits, the upgrade's governor, Rhys, will help you develop several basic statistics (level 50 max). Moreover, having built the said upgrade, resting in any Spire will grant you temporary bonuses to Accuracy, Athletics, and Subterfuge (5 points).

The training cost decreases by one point for every skill level, which is illustrated by the table below. The cost is counted in copper rings.
