Breaking the Enemy - side quest | Blade Grave Tyranny Guide
Last update: 05 December 2016
The following chapter contains a detailed description of gameplay in Trapper's Junction (M21) location, associated with Breaking the Enemy main quest. Here you will find everything you need in order to complete the mentioned quest.
Certain aspects were described in separate sections.
Trapper's Junction
A thing worth noting here is the fact that the quest described here is completely optional. Nonetheless, it's still worth visiting this location to collect numerous treasures scattered around the area and face enemies, allowing your party members to develop and advance quicker. This chapter is mainly about fighting enemies.
Reach Mattias
The first NPC you will encounter in this area is a wounded soldier [1]. During the conversation you will learn that Unbroken were attacked by Scarlet Chorus' soldiers which can still be found in the area. Your task will be to eliminate them. The above map shows the route that you should follow to scatter enemies into smaller and easier to defeat packs. The following walkthrough will be based on the path shown on the above map.
End the conversation with the wounded soldier, kill him and head north. You can collect treasures along your way, although you should try to remain on the correct course. There's a group of Scarlet Chorus soldiers hidden in a rock recess [2]. They won't pose a threat, provided that you ignore the warriors and eliminate the mages as quickly as possible. Otherwise, you can try to lure the warriors out of the recess, although try not to venture deeper into the location.
Stick to the upper edge of the map [3] and you will soon stumble upon another Chorus group. This time you won't be facing mages, although there will be enemies trying to attack you from a distance. Focus all your attention on the enemy archers and take them out immediately.
Once the battle ends, head to the central part of the map [4]. There will be two Unbroken near the palisade - they will start a conversation. Ask about Mattias and they will call him. After a short conversation you will receive additional Wrath points towards the Unbroken and you will need to defeat Mattias. He is quite a durable fighter and he will be accompanied by two additional soldiers. However, you shouldn't have problems with eliminating him.
Ending of the quest
Once Mattias is dead, you have to eliminate all of the remaining enemies in the area. Go through the palisade and bypass a stone ledge from the north [5]. Enter the central part of the encampment [6] and kill all of the Unbroken located there. You will initiate an encounter with a smaller group of enemies, which is crucial because there's one of the Unbroken commanders - Irrentias - located here as well. Take him out, examine his body and collect his notes. Read them and a new location - Infested Oldwalls - will appear on the Blade Grave map.
Afterwards, head south [7] where two enemies guarding the palisade will await you. They are weak and will not stand a chance because they are simply outnumbered. The quest will be completed once they are taken out, although there are still soldiers of the Scarlet Chorus worth taking out located in the area.
Acquire evidence for the Trial
Travel back to the location where you've started the quest [1] and head south from there. You will stumble upon a group of Chorus soldiers, commanded by Jagged Remedy and Pyre there [8]. Try to retreat a little and lure out some enemies, as in this situation they severely outnumber you. Search the body of Jagged Remedy to find Archon of Secrets' orders - this will allow you to continue with the A Trial of Archons quest.
These are all of the areas which you can access during this quest. The location is bigger but the Disfavored path won't allow you to reach the western section of the map. Nonetheless, the quest is completed and you've acquired another evidence for the trial. Loot all of the chests and go back to main quests of the story.
