Here, you will find a walkthrough for the main storyline missions which will let you complete the said quest as profitably as possible.
Individual topics are described in their respective sections.
- Begin the quest
- Preparations for the ritual
- Assist the Earthshakers
- Ritual of Fallowing
- Completing the quest
Begin the quest
The quest will appear in the journal once you finish the conversation with Graven Ashe in which you report what you did in the Carving the Path quest. The first thing you have to do is to inform Radix that Ashe agrees to the performance of the ritual. To do it, go back to Howling Rock and talk to the Disfavored.
Preparations for the ritual
Once you've conveyed the message to the Earthshakers' commander, you will learn that Radix has already begun initial preparations for the ritual. At the same time, he will ask for your help in two important tasks that have to be done to initiate the ritual. The first is to collect three Shards of Pure Azurelith that can be found in various locations of Stone Sea. If you gathered them earlier, then this objective will be automatically completed, which you will see in the top left corner of the screen. Below are maps with the items' locations.
Stone Down Gorge
1. Required Athletics - 51 ranks.
2. Required Athletics - 52 ranks.
Howling Rock
1. Required Athletics - 55 ranks.
Gulfglow Oldwalls
All Shards: Required Athletics - 56 ranks.
Remember that the quest has you collect only three shards, so you will surely be able to obtain them in the course of the game.
Assist the Earthshakers
The second task you are given by Radix is to find a group of the Earthshakers that set out to search for Azurelith in Gulfglow.
Upon entering the location, you will encounter a Stone Sea inhabitant accompanied by a unit of the Earthshakers. When you get closer, you will be approached by a cartographer named Lycon. He will inform you that there are many of the Beastmen in the location. One of the Earthshakers will cut in, and Lycon will then escape the location.
Talk to Basilon, the unit's commander, and ask him about the situation. It turns out that the Stonestalker Tribe attacked the Earthshakers, and then the commander of the former hid herself in Aurora Spire. After the conversation with Basilon, you have to decide whether you want to settle the issue peacefully or start killing the Beastmen right away.
If you decide to resort to violence, all you have to do is to fight the Stonestalker Tribe and cut down all enemies in Gulfglow and Gulfglow Runic Hall.
If you choose the second option, you have to head to the eastern part of the location, taking wooden bridges to its lower levels. Eventually, you will be halted by guards. You have to make them understand the you have no intention of stealing the shards and that they have to let you through.
Enter the Runic Hall where you can continue the quest. There is a unit of the Stonestalker Tribe led by a Beastwoman named Red-Fang. Regardless of the chosen dialogue line, you won't be able to finish the negotiations peacefully. When you propose peace, the Beastwomen will attack you and you will have to face them. The fight is very difficult, so before you start negotiating, try to provide all party members with necessary equipment. Once victorious, head back to Gulfglow.
Now you have to eliminate all the Beastmen in the location. You don't have to worry about the Eartshakers' lives since they are immortal at this stage of the quest. After the battle, report back to Basilon.
He will give you Sigil of Force - Core. He will also ask you to deliver Azurelith Shards to Radix. The further part of the quest leads back to Howling Rock.
Ritual of Fallowing
Once you return to Radix, you will learn that all preparations for the ritual are complete. During the conversation, you will give him the Azurelith you had collected, and then you have to confirm your readiness to participate in the ritual. It is important because when the ritual has started, the location will be attacked by several units of the Scarlet Chorus that have to be defeated for the quest to conclude successfully.
Apart from that, there is another part of the quest. In combat, the Choir will be trying to destabilize the Azurelith Shards to interrupt the process. After defeating each enemy unit, you have to interact with a crystal and place the Earthshaker Staff in them. You will recognize the crystals easily since they look identical to that marked in the above picture. In the course of the quest, you will have to do it thrice. Note that it doesn't require any attribute to be used so our characters' level is meaningless.
The battle against the Choir can be divided into two stages which are described below.
Stage 1
1. First, defeat all Choirmen gathered near the entrance to the Earthshakers' camp. The Disfavored will help you in combat but they are susceptible to damage this time, so you have to act skillfully in order not to lose numerical superiority.
2. Place the Earthshaker Staff in the Azurelith deposit.
3. Defeat the concentrated units of the Choir. Here, the allied ranks are thinner and the majority of the characters you've encountered here earlier will die before you get here. Keep in mind that many Beastmen will fight on the enemy side.
4. Place the Earthshaker Staff in the Azurelith deposit.
After performing the above activities, you will seamlessly move to the second stage of the battle.
Stage 2
1. Defeat the unit of the Choir that blocks your way to Cairn. Here, you will find mostly ordinary soldiers of the Choir, but they are accompanied by a Beastman.
2. Defeat the last unit of the Choir. The fight is quite simplified because Radix, who deals considerable area-of-effect damage, takes part in it.
3. Place the Earthshaker Staff in the Azurelith deposit.
After completing the above activities, the ritual will be completed, Cairn will die, and you will lift the Edict of Stone. Then, Radix will ask you to go to Iron Hearth and inform Graven Ashe of the success at Stone Sea. Before you leave the location, take a piece of Cairn to increase your power.
Completing the quest
Once you've returned to the Archont of War, inform him of the events at Stone Sea. He will give you a weapon of the Disfavored, and the said region will fall under his control. At the end of the conversation, a messenger will appear and inform that the Scarlet Chorus have launched an attack on Mountain Spire. Proclaim that you will go there to defend your property and the quest will conclude. At the same time, a new quest, Standing Tall, will appear in the journal-you will find a walkthrough in a separate chapter.
