The Stones of Elucidation - side quest | Blade Grave Tyranny Guide

Last update: 16 December 2016

This chapter contains a complete description of the gameplay in Oldwalls Breach and Blade Grave Oldwalls associated with The Stones of Elucidation quest. Here, you will find a walkthrough for the side storyline missions which will let you complete the said quest as profitably as possible.

Attention: the quest described in this chapter is strictly connected to the A Breach Between Worlds quest. All stages associated with exploration of the ruins are described in the walkthrough of the latter mission, so you should refer to the adequate chapter in case of any inaccuracies.

Individual topics are described in their respective sections.

Take on the quest

You will meet Hieronymus in Oldwalls Breach. Ask him what is he doing in the location and he will tell you of two artifacts that you can find in the nearby Oldwalls. The available dialogue options don't provide you with an unambiguous confirmation of accepting the quest, but the mission will appear in the journal once you complete the conversation. Your task is to enter the Oldwalls, find the stones and then deliver them to the aforementioned Sage. Defeat the Bane that you'll encounter in this location, take the Torchkey, and enter the breach.

The first Stone

To acquire the first of the Stones that Hieronymus asked for, you have to go the central point of the ruins and raise the stairs that lead to the upper floor of the location - The Stones of Elucidation - side quest | Blade Grave - Blade Grave - Tyranny Game Guide

To acquire the first of the Stones that Hieronymus asked for, you have to go the central point of the ruins and raise the stairs that lead to the upper floor of the location. Take those which let you investigate the western part of the upper level and then enter the first encountered chamber.

There, you will find a bridge[1], and behind it is a pedestal from which you can take a Stone of Elucidation[2]. Once it's done, the bridge that connects both parts of the chamber will become inactive, and the Bane will pop out of the nearby crystals[3] in the wall. Defeat them and interact with the pedestal again, and the interaction with the nearby pile of rubble[4] will become possible. Take the stone from the pile and place it on the pedestal. In this way, you will reactivate the bridge and be able to leave the location. Be careful, though, for when you do it, a Wisp and a Malice will emerge from the last crystal[5]. The latter enemy is particularly dangerous because it deals magical damage that ignores the target's armor.

The second Stone

The second artifact can be found in Blade Grave Oldwalls - West. In this case, you have to defeat the Bane in the chamber where you will also find the Saphir Torchkey.

Select any party member and move them around the chamber to the south - The Stones of Elucidation - side quest | Blade Grave - Blade Grave - Tyranny Game Guide

Select any party member and move them around the chamber to the south. In the side corridor, you will see the button[1] marked in the picture. When you push it, the door[2] visible in the picture will open and, at the same time, the hero who pushed it will be locked up in the corridor. Defeat the Wisp who guards the stone stash[3] and search it to obtain another Stone of Elucidation. Take the item, exit the chamber with the stash, and push the button[1] again to merge the party.

Now, you have all the required items, so you can head back to Hieronymus to collect your reward or claim it after you've completed all quests in this location.

Completing the quest

Once you exited the ruins, deliver the Stones to Hieronymus. It will gain you Favor of the Sages' Guild and 2000 rings. You can also ask him about the stones' purpose but you won't learn anything valuable at this point. The quest concludes along with the conversation.
