Standing Tall - main quest | Blade Grave Tyranny Guide
Last update: 19 December 2016
This chapter contains a complete description of the gameplay in Iron Hearth(M13) and Mountain Spire, which are locations associated with the Standing Tall quest. Here, you will find a walkthrough for the main storyline missions which will let you complete the said quest as profitably as possible.
Individual topics are described in their respective sections.
Beginning of the quest
The mission described in this chapter appears in the journal while reporting Cairn's death to Graven Ashe. Your conversation will be interrupted by a messenger of the Disfavored who informs you that the Choir attacked Vendrien's Well Citadel. The quest's objective is to travel to Mountain Spire and repel the invasion
Issue an Edict
On the world map, you will see that the top of the Mountain Spire is the only available location in Vendrien's Well. There, you will meet Iron Marshal Erenyos who informs you of the Scarlet Chorus' invasion. While still in the conversation, the Spire will start to emit strange shocks, and the sculpture in its central point will start spinning.
In the mission, you can issue an Edict that will let you gain an advantage over the Scarlet Chorus in the upcoming battle. Interacting with the sculpture will open the Edict panel. First, select the region that will be affected by the Edict. At this point, the Vendrien's Well is the only available option.
The most effective Edict against the Scarlet Chorus is the Edict of Storms because it reduces damage dealt by fire spells which are a strength of the Chorus' mages. Issuing an Edict costs 500 points of power but you should already have that amount at this point of the story.
After issuing the Edict, talk to Eryenos and explain that the just-issued Edict is your doing. The Disfavored will go to the battlefield, while you should check the supplies first and then join the combatants.
Defeat the invaders
In the Citadel's courtyard, a unit of the Scarlet Chorus led by Death Knell awaits you. It turns out that the Edict scared away most of the Voices of Nerat's forces, so you only have to defeat Death Knell's units. The fight isn't easy but with the help of the Edict and the small Disfavored forces, you should be able to quickly emerge victorious.
Once the fight is over, enter the Spire to finish the quest and the Act II.
