The above map presents Edgering Ruins, your starting point in Tyranny. Here, you will learn the gameplay basics: dialogues, combat, shaping your reputation, interaction with game world and obtaining new companions.

Quests in Edgering Ruins

Main Quest: Welcome to Ruin - added to your journal automatically once the game starts. All the necessary steps will be described in this chapter.

Main Quest: The Conqueror's Will- added to your journal automatically once the game starts. The quest is active but one can complete it in the second location.

NPCs in Edgering Ruins

Aurora (M1.1) - she is the first character that you will speak with. She will introduce the main storyline aspects. The map presents her location once Welcome to Ruins is completed. Talk to her to learn more about the situation in Wendrien's Well. If you mention the combat aspect and Verse is in your team, a conflict will emerge between both of them. By selecting the right dialogue options you can:

  • Gain approval of Disfavored and fright of Verse
  • Hostility of Disfavored and loyalty of Verse

Drastus (M1.2) - leader of Disfavored stationed in Edgering Ruins. You can speak with him only if you saved him when he was a hostage. After completing Welcome to Ruin you will find him in the spot presented on the map with Mocking Blaze (M1.3). They will argue about leading the Vendien Guard. If you join the conversation, you will decide on the prisoner's fate:

  • execution - approval of the Disfavored
  • conscription - approval of the Scarlet Chorus

If you decide to execute Tarkis Demos you will unlock Steam achievement - Slow Death.

Quartermaster (M1.4) - a NPC who will offer you to trade your equipment once you complete Welcome to Ruin. If you go carefully through the dialogue options, you will learn that you can discuss her permission to trade. As she cannot read, you can lie to her and tell her that she is not permitted to sell weapons. Further dialogue options will offer to tell her the truth, but don't do that. In the end, you can offer to extend her license for the right price. This way you can obtain copper, Azurelith Shard or axe. The weapon will be useful for a character who fights with one hand weapons, the stone is perfect for a mage and if none of them appears to you, take the cash.

Companions w Edgering Ruins

Verse (M1.5) - member of the Scarlet Chorus. You are obliged to take her with you, but you can send her away after the first battle. She will be especially useful if your hero lacks cunning skill. You can find out more about her in the Companions section.

Enemies w Edgering Ruins

Tarkis Demos (M1.1) - Leader of the Vendrien Guard. He should be your first target. After the battle you can decide on his fate.

Vendrien Guard (M1.2) - rebel troops. They fight in close combat and distance. Not much of a threat.

Items in Edgering Ruins

1 - Moving north, where Drastus was a hostage, you will find a broken part of a wall that you can climb up, if your hero has 35 Athletics. There, you will find potion of invisibility.

2 - Climb down the rope and you will find a stone table with a necklace on it. In order to obtain it, one of your characters needs Lore at level 35.

3 - Near the tent, there are two chests that you can search.

4 - To reach the container, you will need to walk over the left line of the defensive wall, and use the rope to reach one of its segments. One will need Athletics at level 30 to achieve it, however the chest is locked and level 39 cunning is required to open it.

5 - A chest be the gate, near Scarlet Chorus tent.

6 - A barrel between the Disfavored tents, right by the table with the map.

Making your way to locations after Edgering Ruins

Disfavored Camp- use the gate in the east part of the camp. For now you can move to only one location. There you will be able to finish The Conqueror's Will.
