How to Join The Rebels? Tyranny Guide

The following chapter will provide many details concerning the path of the rebels. All of the descriptions refer to specific quests that will appear in your journal if you decide to support the autonomy of Tiers. Most quests will be similar to those that await you when you decide to support the Disfavored or the Scarlet Chorus. Quests that differ significantly, will be described in separate chapters.

Forging an Alliance

The quest will appear in your journal after a conversation with Tunon, at the beginning of the second chapter. Archon of Justice will suggest using relations with the rebels to return peace in Tiers. Finish the dialogue and get back to Ascendance Hall. Tarkis Arri will mark Bronze Brotherhood in Lethian's Crossing as a faction that may be interested in regaining freedom.

During your journey to Lethian's Crossing you will come across a barricade in Ironhaul Trail. Speak with the commander of the Bronze Brotherhood and you will learn that peace between them and Vendrien Guard is not an option. You can also speak with Welby, who will reveal that Raetommon is the main source of all the problems in the faction and that Bronze Brotherhood will join the rebellion under her lead.

In Lethian's Crossing head to Forge-Bound. Zdenya will ask you to take part in the process of placing Megabane Helm at Sunset Spire. Finish the fight and exit the Spire. Turns out that the artefact has been stolen. Members of Bronze Brotherhood will ask for help, to stop Raetommon, who is killing civilians and his own people. A new quest will appear in your journal - Guardian's Return.

Guardian's Return

You will find Raetommon by the entrance to the Elder's house. He is responsible for stealing the helm and killing his own soldier. He will head for the south-west part of the map. Follow him and you will find out that he took Zdenya as his prisoner. After a short conversation with Raetommon, Forging an Alliance will be completed, and he will leave the location. Deal with a small group of Bronze Brotherhood soldiers, and go back to the Elder who may know the location of his hideout.

Eldian will mark two locations: Deserter's March and Twin Rivers. The quest will be completed and a new one - In the Shadow of the Oldwalls, will be added.

In the Shadow of the Oldwalls

Head to Deserter's March. You will be ambushed by a pack of Beastmen. Their leader will often to join you. If you agree, Kills-in-Shadow will become a potential companion. Regardless of your decision, continue your journey to Deserter's March

In Deserter's March you will witness an argument between members of the Bronze Brotherhood. One group will support Raetommon, while the other will try to stop him. To calm them down, speak with Locke and Myrek. In the end, you will have to support one of the groups and it is crucial that you pick the one commanded by Locke. Once the battle is over, search Myrek's body and obtain Stone Key to the Oldwalls. Travel to Twin Rivers.

The Bronze Brotherhood will be fighting against banes. Help them and you will gain some Favor of Bronze Brotherhood. Cross the collapsed bridge and move to the north-east part of the location. There you will find Welby. Help her fight the banes and once the battle is over let her know that she has your support. Inform her that you have the Stone Key and head for Oldwalls. Welby shall convince members of the Bronze Brotherhood that Raetommon is mad. In the end, one of the members will give you Torchkey Amith, essential when exploring the ruins.

Crossing the Oldwalls

The quest will be completed and a new one will appear in your journal - Crossing the Oldwalls. The activities in the mission are identical to those in Forbidden Passage, which you can learn more about in a separate chapter of the game guide. The only difference is that certain chambers will not be available as you won't have the Torchkey from Blade Grave Oldwalls.

Once you kill Raetommon you will have to decide which faction in Lethian's Crossing you are going to support. If you decide to support Bronze Brotherhood, Forge- Bound will become hostile towards you and will leave Lethian's Crossing. Exit the ruins and head for the Elder's house, and after a short conversation get back to Ascendance Hall and inform Tarkis Arri about your decision. After a short but intensive dialogue, a new quest will appear in your journal - Unlikely Allies.

You need to travel to Stone Down Gorge and convince a tribe of Stonestalkers to join the rebellion. Once you reach the location defeat all members of the Scarlet Chorus, and move to the south-east part of the map. When speaking with the chief of the tribe, ask how you can prove your strength. Beastman will order you to get rid of the Disfavored and Scarlet Chorus, located in several parts of the Stone Sea. Once the conversation is over, the quest will be closed and Purge the Stone Sea will be unlocked. Furthermore, new locations will be unlocked as well - Jagged Maw Shrine and Gulfglow Oldwalls.

Halfgate

The easiest fight awaits you in Halfgate and thus that should be your first destination. Although you can convince the first group of the Chorus to retreat, you will have to fight your way through all the other groups. Most Chorus soldiers won't be much of a threat as they are vulnerable to damage. Defeat all the soldiers and civilians will leave their houses and the city will become normal once again. Before you exit the location, you can set free one of the Beastmen (Return to the Wild), located in the central part of the village. This will accumulate Wrath of the locals, but if you promise to assist them in a different way, they will not become hostile.

Jagged Maw Shrine

Fighting The Disfavored is definitely much harder as it's not easy to pierce their armor and they can deliver massive damage themselves. As soon as you enter the location, you will witness an argument between The Scarlet Chorus and The Disfavored. Join the discussion and announce that only you will leave the location alive. You should focus on the Disfavored, and only then eliminate the remaining members of the Scarlet Chorus. Collect treasures scattered around the location and head to Gulfglow Oldwalls.

In this location, you will have to face some more The Disfavored. Members of Stonewalkers will support you during combat. Battles will be long and challenging but you should win in the end. Defeat your last opponents and get back to Hundred Blood, in order to proceed with the storyline.

After a conversation with Hundred Blood your current task will be completed, and The Followers of Cairn will be added to your journal. This time you will have to protect the Archon's body from The Disfavored.

The Followers of Cairn

Once you enter the location, you should continue to move forward till you reach the Beastmen camp. Speak with Hundred Blood and use the wooden bridge to reach south. There is a hole in the palisade of the fort that can be used to spy on two mages. You can raise the bridge by using Azurelith Shard. Inform Hundred Blood about this, raise the bridge and attack The Disfavored.

The battle will be challenging and the key to success is not to block your allies on the bridge. Finish the fight and destroy Cains connected to the Cairn and stop the ritual performed by The Disfavored. You will need to eliminate all the enemies in the location and destroy three Cains.

Destroy the last Cain to proceed with your quest. Speak with Hundred Blood and tell her to go to Ascendance Hall. Meet her there to complete the quest.

Battered but Unbroken

If you supported the Unbroken, your first destination should be the Sentinel Stand. When you reach the storm, you will be attacked by banes. As soon as the fight is over, a representative of the Unbroken - Janos, will appear. Inform him about the alliance against Kyros, and he will redirect you to a place where you can speak with one of the leaders of the faction.

As soon as you enter the location, you will come across one of The Disfavored. You can let him go or kill him- this won't affect much. Now head towards the central part of the map. By the gate, you will meet Captain Agathon. Offer your assistance and he will ask you to help repair the palisade of the fort. In the end, you will have to leave the fort to kill The Disfavored located in the east.

Defeat the enemies and move to the west part of the keep, where Unbroken imprisoned one of The Disfavored. Turns out that a small group of foes was able to pass the defense. Defeat them and head for the gate to face the main wave of The Disfavored. Deal with them and get back to the spot where Callias was kept. Speak with the prisoner and a new location will be unlocked - Trapper's Junction. The quest will be completed and Daunting Path will be added to your journal.

Daunting Path

Enter Trapper's Junction and you will come across a wounded Unbroken. Regardless of the dialogue option, he will die. Move towards the central part of the map to proceed with your quest.

You will reach the palisade, of the Unbroken camp. Speak with the guards and Mattias will appear. Unbroken is seriously thinking about joining the Scarlet Chorus, and your task is to make him change his mind. You won't be able to convince him but you can ask the other commander - Irentis, for assistance. He believes that finding a powerful artefact of Unbroken should improve morale. Furthermore, Infested Oldwalls will be unlocked. Head there to find the Sword.

The location is occupied by banes. Defeat them, collect the powerful weapon and get back to Irentis. One should know that the battles will be tough, so save your game after each dual and try to lure your opponents in smaller groups.

Show Mattias the sword. Your journal will be updated and your task will be to eliminate all Scarlet Chorus soldiers in the location. Defeat three groups and speak with leader of Unbroken. Your current quest will be completed and new missions will be added to your journal: That which remains and A breach between worlds.
