First steps
Since you start the game being at war with Tylis, you can start with moving in this direction using troops stationing in Pulpudeva. Before you cross the border I suggest strengthening your army with additional slingers and move your fleet and a spy towards the enemy.
The next step depends on progress of Athens and Sparta in the fight against Epirus; however I recommend conquering other Macedon regions as soon as possible. Now you can get back to conquering Thracia. With two provinces you'll significantly extend your maneuver field and open new expansion directions.
Whichever victory option you choose, you'll be forced to move to the east, towards the old empire of Alexander. You'll need not only effective infantry but also a cavalry capable of catching up with light riders from the Middle East.
