Characteristic | Factions - Suebi TW: Rome II Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Suebi start the game in the very center of Germania, surrounded by other smaller tribes. In the north, east and west are related to you people of Rugii, Gutones, Lugii and Cherusci and on the south you border with Boii - Celtic tribe. Forming a confederation with allies and attacking cultural misfit should be your first objective!
The initial units available for Suebi are rather weak and rely on the quantity rather on quality. In this game stage you should invest in projectile units, which will gather the blood harvest during the fight. With the expansion of your structures you'll get an access to great infantry and cavalry. In addition you'll be able to recruit terrifying berserkers and use the help of saboteurs - night hunters.
Starting bonuses
Suebi start the game with four bonuses and one penalty:
- Marauders: +20% income from raiding and sacking
- Warrior Society: +1 public order for every war against a neighboring faction
- Venerable Elders: +3% tax rate
- Tribal Conflict: +10% morale for all units during battles against barbarian factions
- Disdain for Foreign Cultures: +25% public order penalties due to local presence of foreign cultures
The most important available units

Spear brothers
More effective spearmen units with better melee defense than their predecessors. However, they are still not enough resistant to enemy attacks.
Night hunters
Saboteurs, capable of getting outside the deployment zone. This unit can silently attack enemy war machines or hit the back of his army.
Berserkers
Fearless warriors arousing terror among enemy ranks. They enter the battle rage greatly increasing their combat abilities. Well used berserkers can win every battle for you.
Sword masters
Elite Suebi infantry. Well armored and great in melee fight they can defeat the best barbarian units. Unfortunately in clashes with Greek phalanx or Roman legions they are still without much chance.
Noble riders
Suebi heavy cavalry. They are able to break enemy ranks and destroy his light infantry. They have very good charge and therefore they are ideal as shock formation. Thanks to high melee defense they can easily fight enemy cavalry.
Longbow hunters
Suebi projectile units. Equipped with bows they can easily deal with any enemy infantry unit.
