Last update: 13 April 2021
This page of the Oddworld Soulstorm guide contains the first part of the walkthrough of the Mission 6: Phat Station. Our walkthrough informs how to complete the mountain crossing, how to hide from snipers and how to get through areas with flying mines.
Additional note: the green color in this walkthrough stands for secrets and unique locations / activities associated with the badges (challenges) in the game. Mission 6 badges were described on a separate page of the guide.
Infiltrate the station
First, go to the right. At the very end of the path, we will find the first Royal Jelly secret hidden behind the rocks.
Only after we've picked it up, we return to the starting point and go to the left as planned.
After a long walk, we will get to a crossroads. First, examine the optional lower path. In the place marked in the picture above, there is a hanging load. We can jump to it (double jumps) and shake it. Each time you shake it, a few rocks will fall down, which we can add to the inventory. They are a new kind of throwable objects.
The newly acquired items will prove useful to us in no time. On the left side, there is a narrow passage blocked by mines. We can throw rocks at the mines and thus, lead to their detonation. You can also throw them while crouching. If we run out of rocks, we can go back to the hanging cargo and hit it again.
Getting rid of all the mines will unlock the passage to a secret area, which also contains a Royal Jelly secret.
We return to the crossroads and choose the main, upper path leading to the left. On the way, we will pass binoculars, although they are not collectable at this particular stage.
In the next sequence, we will encounter the first sick Mudokon. We heal him (Abe always has the antidote on himself) and go a little bit to the left.
Use Steam Zones to hide from snipers
During this mission, you must regularly rely on Steam Zones to avoid being detected by the enemies. Before we head towards the first zone, let's wait for the laser beam to start moving to the left. We come out of hiding while the sniper watches the area we came from.
Soon after we pass the first sniper, we have to jump down to the lower shelf. Before we go any further to the left, let's examine the area on the right. In the "invisible" spot shown in picture 1, there is a secret area behind the rocks.
Moreover, we can examine the lower left path here. There is a Royal Jelly secret and a bird portal, with the help of which we will save the escorted Mudokon.
We can return to the upper path (go through the hidden secret area once again) and go further to the left. In the new location, you have to wait for a suitable moment to run to the Steam Zone and leave it once the sniper begins to observe the right area.
There's a second sick Mudokon just a few steps further. After healing him, let's take him back to the bird portal we used earlier to save our first ally. This means, of course, that we have to avoid the sniper from a distant tower once again.
For the first time, we will be forced to avoid levitating mines. They are motionless, but once you touch the mine, Abe will immediately die. Use double jumps and don't hurry with any further actions.
In the next stage, let's use descending / climbing ladders to reach places from which it is easier to make jumps and avoid mines. After getting past them, we go along the path to the left.
We will reach locations with snipers and Steam Zones. We deal with it as previously. We have to wait for the right moments to reach next Steam Zones and hide in it from the laser beams.
A unique feature of this location is that as we move to the right, we can explore optional lower areas. Getting to the first area of this kind is very simple: just jump down to the very bottom. Abe will find some crates to destroy. For the first time, we will come across empty bottles: Abe will be able to recycle them later.
The next two areas are much more difficult, as Abe has to avoid new mines on his way down. Our task is to jump between ladders in such a way that he does not touch any mines. We can help ourselves by pressing the jump button with a delay to perform a double jump and fit between the mines more accurately.
In the second lower area, there are only crates. The third location is a secret area with a Royal Jelly secret. Lockers here require a gold square key. Return to the top carefully, bypassing the mines.
Regardless of whether we decide to explore the lower zones or not, we need to reach the upper right platform. There's a passage leading to the inside of the building.
