Oddworld Soulstorm: Badges (challenges), Brewery - list, walkthrough Oddworld Soulstorm guide, walkthrough
Last update: 18 May 2021
This page of the Oddworld Soulstorm guide contains descriptions of Badges from Level 16 - Brewery. These are different challenges for finding collectibles, escorting Mudokons, neutralizing Sligs and crafting items. Our guide will help you earn all the platinum badges in Mission 16.
Additional notes: if we do not pass the requirements of the challenge a 100%, then we can still receive a badge of a lower rank, for example, a gold or a silver one. The game allows you to repeat the completed stages in order to obtain the missed badges.
How to unlock Mission 16?
Level 16 is one of two additional stages. It will unlock only if you have met the requirements to unlock a good ending. Specifically, we need to:
- Make sure that less than a total of 1000 Mudokons are killed in Levels 1-15 - you need to save as many Mudokons as possible in subsequent missions, especially in Levels 8 and 13 where you have to protect hundreds of fleeing allies.
- Make sure that at least 12 out of the 15 stages have been completed with positive Quarma. You need to save at least 80% of the Mudokons in a given stage (e.g. 80 Mudokons out of the 100 Mudokons in total on the map).
Important note - if you've completed more than 3 levels with a negative Quarma, you don't have to start the campaign again. The levels where we didn't get positive Quarma can be repeated and we can try again to save at least 80% of Mudokons.
Explorer
Platinum badge requirements: Find 4 Secret Areas.
Badge description: One of the challenges associated with secrets/collectibles. The game always informs us about finding a secret area. We have included them in the walkthrough of Level 16 - they are marked in green.
Crafter
Platinum badge requirements: Craft 40 items.
Badge description: unlocking a platinum badge for producing 40 items should not cause us much trouble. It takes quite a lot of time to craft brewers, but we can get a lot of ingredients for crafting. This level also encourages you to use your gadgets to eliminate enemies more effectively.
If you still want to increase your chances, then look for vending machines that offer free ingredients. We can use them to craft new items and then consume them immediately if we have reached the limit of inventory capacity.
Searcher
Platinum badge requirements: Search 25 lockers.
Badge description: this challenge is much less demanding than the ones from the previous mission. 25 lockers is a really small number. During your playthrough of this level, you will find much more of them. In addition, lockers from this level do not require using keys with each and every one of them, and most of them do not have any padlocks.
Saviour
Platinum badge requirements: Save 75 Mudokons.
Badge description: 75 saved allies may seem like a large number, but you will constantly encounter Mudokons along the way. There is a total of 81 Mudokons, so the badge provides a certain margin of error. Mudokons can die first of all in those places where we have to defend ourselves from Sligs coming out of guard houses.
Fortunately, checkpoints are distributed fairly evenly and in case of failure, we can easily repeat the given confrontation or avoid other mistakes. What's more, Mudokons are found in the main locations. We don't have to look for them in hard-to-reach hidden areas.
Slig Apprehender
Platinum badge requirements: Capture 30 Sligs.
Badge description: Bouncy Binding Candy is the best gadget to fulfill the requirements of this challenge, because thanks to it, we can tie the attacked Slig from a distance. Abe will find candy ingredients on an ongoing basis.
We can also, of course, rely on various gadgets (and possession) to stun our enemies. Remember, however, that you must have a tape and use it to bind defenseless enemies in order for them to be recognized as captured.
Hidden Help
Platinum badge requirements: Find 4 Royal Jelly secrets.
Badge description: One of the challenges associated with secrets/collectibles. Royal Jelly is a levitating object that you can collect to lengthen Abe's health bar. We have included them in our walkthrough of the 1st mission - they are marked in green.
