This page of the Kena Bridge of Spirits game guide explains how to easily and quickly defeat the Hunter, the next boss in the game. You will encounter him during the Hunter Path main mission.
The Hunter is a fast and agile boss. You will rarely get the chance to attack him in melee combat, as the Hunter is usually flying around. As a result, you will mainly have to rely on your shooting skills during this fight. If you manage to hit him while he is readying one of his stronger attacks, you might stun him, which will cause him to fall to the ground.
The Hunter has a wide array of ranged attacks. One of this boss's main attacks will be to stop in mid-air to charge an arrow that will fly towards you at high speed. If you spot the beams of light he creates in a circle, it means that he is preparing to use this attack. The moment you see an arrow rushing by, dodge forward.
Hitting the Hunter isn't easy, as whenever he's not attacking, he will start evading sideways as soon as you aim your crosshair at him. That's why it's a good idea to shoot at the boss while he is attacking. Another reason is that if you hit the Hunter's head in the middle of an attack, you will stun him and he will fall to the ground.
This gives you the perfect opportunity to refresh your arrows, approach the boss and attack with stronger moves using Rot. This will also help you recharge your Courage bar quicker by attacking with fast attacks. Be careful, though, because after a moment, the Hunter will begin to emanate energy around him, causing a small explosion that deals damage. Once you spot the red light, move away from the boss.
After the Hunter takes to the air and points his bow at the ground, expect the attack from the screenshot. A large purple barrier will begin to surround the entire arena, and the only possible way to avoid this attack is by Dashing. When the barrier approaches you, Dash to destroy it.
The Hunter can also land on the ground and assume a shooting position. During this attack, the boss will shoot a series of fast projectiles, so it's a good idea to slow down time at this point and shoot the boss in the head to stun him. He can perform a similar attack while in the air. Additionally, after the salvo, he will shoot out several projectiles simultaneously in a horizontal line.
The Hunter has two melee attacks. If you notice that the boss hovers up slightly in mid-air, he is about to perform a gliding attack during which he will quickly fly up to you and attack in melee. When you notice that the boss has flown up slightly, be prepared to dodge.
During the second attack, the Hunter will float up high into the sky, causing him to temporarily disappear from your field of view. After a while, he will create a pentagram where he is about to land. It will usually appear in your current location. When you notice the mark under your feet, make sure to dodge, because very soon the Hunter will drop down and attack the indicated spot.
You should also pay attention to the surroundings, because in some parts of the arena, there are traps that, once activated, will lock your character in a barrier and you will only be able to free yourself by using the Dash skill.
Also, you have two healing items at your disposal, so make sure to use them if you are low on health (keepin mind that you need to have at least one Courage bar).
