On this page of the Kena Bridge of Spirits guide, you will learn how to easily and quickly defeat Corrupt Taro, the next boss in the game. You'll encounter him during the Free Taro main mission.

To free Taro, you must first defeat his corrupt version. The boss is huge, very fast and fights with a sword. Thankfully, it has several weaknesses which should make the fight much easier.

You should notice the lantern tied around his neck once the boss fight starts. It's one of his weak points. When Taro tries to charge towards you, shoot the lantern with your bow - not only will you deal heavy damage, you'll also stun him for a moment.

Unfortunately, even when he's stunned, he'll keep blindly flailing and attacking. He does it up to three times, attacking everything in front of him and beside him. After stunning Taro, get behind him and attack from there. You aren't safe even there though.

The boss can take a swing and turn around, making a single blow against you. Be prepared to dodge or defend yourself.

Corrupt Taro is vulnerable to Rot attacks. Once you charge your Courage, you can use Rot. It'll be in a purple orb on his shoulder. After doing so, use Pulse to deal heavy damage and stun the boss.

Unfortunately, this will cause the boss to become more aggressive and expand his moveset. He can now lunge towards you and thrust his sword into the ground, causing an AoE explosion.

If the boss starts roaring and glowing red, run away as soon as you can, as he'll cause an explosion around himself. He becomes even more aggressive after this attack, gaining a new combo consisting of four quick slashes, which he then finishes by lunging and driving his sword into the ground.

The sword will explode after a while, forcing the boss to fight without it, like at the beginning of the battle.

The less health Corrupt Taro has, the more dangerous he becomes. When his health reaches around 30%, he'll start running circles around the arena, then pause for a brief moment and charge directly at you. If you don't manage to shoot his lantern as he runs, he'll perform a heavily damaging grab.

You can only avoid this with a quick dodge or by shooting his lantern, stopping the charge altogether.

Remember - you can heal yourself in the arena. It's a good idea to always hold down Pulse while dodging to conjure a shield and nullify the damage, in case the boss manages to hit you. After defeating Corrupt Taro purify him with Rot and Pulse.
