On this page of the Kena Bridge of Spirits guide, you will learn how to easily and quickly defeat Corrupt Woodsmith, the next boss in the game. You'll encounter him during the Free Adira main mission.
When you reach the boss arena, a short cutscene will play. After that, the real battle will begin with Corrupt Woodsmith, who has a very distinctive two phases of the duel. You'll fight differently in the two stages of the boss encounter.
Right from the start, you will find out that Corrupt Woodsmith is immune to all damage. This is because the core of the arena, the blue crystal, protects the boss from damage.
To weaken the boss and make it vulnerable to attacks, you have to fire a bomb at the crystal first and then activate it with an arrow or Pulse.
That way the crystal will break. Be careful, though, because when this happens, a wave of fire will appear and get bigger the further it moves. So when the wave of fire appears, use a double jump and aim for the center of the crystal. You have to shoot it 3 times for the boss to be stunned and vulnerable to damage.
When the boss's barrier is gone, you can attack him with various attacks. At this point, he will also attack less frequently because he won't be able to use some of his attacks.
Speaking of attacks, the boss mainly hits the ground with his hammer. Not only will you take damage if the hammer gets you, but on top of that, when it hits the ground, Corrupt Woodsmith will create a wave of fire just like the one coming from the crystal.
Corrupt Woodsmith may also make a quick charge in your direction. However, don't dodge the moment the boss gets closer to you because the attack is delayed. Wait for half a second when the boss makes his move and only then dodge. If you don't feel confident in dodging this attack, use a shield.
From time to time, you will have to destroy the crystal again, as the boss will try to renew its effect to be able to use all of his attacks. Also, when he starts to regenerate the crystal, the latter will start creating many fire waves, so you have to dodge them with a jump.
When you destroy the crystal for a second time, the second phase will begin. The boss will become more aggressive, plus, he will use fire attacks more often.
Woodsmith will now completely change the way he will fight you. If there is a long distance between you, he will stop in one place, and after a moment, throw the flaming sword in a straight line. The attack is quite fast, so as soon as you see the sword being thrown, do a sideways dodge.
After the boss throws out his sword, he will start hitting the ground, creating more waves of fire. Jump over them while simultaneously using the bow.
It is also a good idea to use bombs and stick them to the boss's body. Not only will they inflict damage, but on top of that, they will destroy the boss's armor, making the boss's weak spots on his chest visible. Just when his armor is destroyed, it's a good idea to slow down time and hit the weak spot with a charged arrow to create an explosion and deal very high damage.
Also, the boss will be stunned for a while, so you can use your accumulated Courage points to use all the powerful attacks on him.
The boss in this phase can use one more attack - namely, he will approach the middle of the arena and start forging things in the fire. By doing so, it will create more fire waves. You will have to jump over them to avoid being injured. In addition, minor enemies can appear in the arena and make the combat a little more difficult.
