Improve your character on an ongoing basis

It's worth spending the Karma you collect on character upgrades on an ongoing basis. This way your progress won't stop - you will gain new upgrades useful in combat. It is worth investing in the Rot Hammer upgrade, which deals very high damage, especially early in the game.

Collect as many collectibles as possible

Even if you're not the type of player who collects everything in your path, it's worth picking up everything you find, even if it means straying a bit from your final destination.

The main reason is that every collectible gives something the player can use. Collecting Rot, for example, increases your level, and it can also help you in battle and with solving certain puzzles. Meditation Spots will increase your maximum health, Spirit Mails will help you discover new areas, and Flower Shrines will reward you with Karma, or materials to level up your character.

The Hats are the only exception to the rule. These are simply skins for your Rot that you can customize in Hat Cart.

Use Warp Stones for fast travel

If you don't want to travel from one end of the map to the other, then Warp Stones will be very helpful for you. Their main goal is to move the character to another Warp Stone. They work as a fast travel mechanic. When you spot one of these, it's a good idea to light it up to go back to it once you find other Warp Stones.

Use Rot's help during the fights

You may think that Rot only helps you move objects to solve puzzles. However, they are equally useful in combat. They can distract your opponent make them stunned for a short time. Rot can also heal you in battle, so they are very helpful.

It's worth deviating from the main path

Occasionally, you will find yourself in a situation where you have to go one way to complete a mission objective. However, there are situations where you will be able to follow a different path. In this way, you can find new collectibles or items that will activate a side quest in which you will have to deliver an item to the NPC in the village.
