Problem - You don't have the right equipment for this spot
- When trying to start the fishing minigame in The Iron Rig you may receive the message: You don't have the right equipment for this spot.
- This message may prevent you from fishing even if it seems that you have the correct rod equipped. In the example in the screenshot, the game prohibits fishing in a Mangrove fishing spot, even though the rod is compatible with this type of fishing spot.
Crafting and installing the right fishing rod
- The above issue is not a game bug, but a DLC feature. Fishing spots in contaminated areas have a yellow arrow next to their category- we marked an example in the screenshot. This means you can't use standard fishing rods there, i.e. those from the base game or the previous DLC The Pale Reach.
- You must use Infused fishing rods, which are unique for the The Iron Rig DLC.
- All Infused fishing rods must first be crafted - to do that, you must visit the Factory on the rig.
- To craft an Infused fishing rod, you may need an Ironhaven Crate, a Dark Canister, and a basic version of the same rod. There's a chance you'll already have that rod. If not, you can buy it by visiting Undermarket in Ironhaven. Install the Infused fishing rod and only then head out to the contaminated fishing spots.
