Before purchasing the Dredge The Pale Reach DLC, you may wonder how long it takes to beat the expansion. This page of the guide covers the length of the DLC: how long it takes to beat the main quests only as well as including all optional content that will allow you to fully explore the new icy archipelago.
Story length and optional activities
- Unfortunately, completing the new storyline of The Pale Reach expansion will not take you very long. It is possible to beat it in about 2 hours. You will spend most of your time getting to know the new archipelago and obtaining all the quest items that are necessary for further progress. These are primarily the Icebreaker and the Ice Axes hidden underwater, which you need to free characters locked in ice blocks.
- The new Pale Reach archipelago is not very large. It offers only 5 unique locations for mooring your boat and is quite densely filled with collectibles, quest items and fishing spots where you can get fish and various loot.
- You will spend more time if you decide to complete optional quests (Pursuits), get trophies and catch all new species of fish. For some rare specimens, you have to fish until you get lucky and succeed. These types of optional activities can extend the DLC by another hour or two. This will allow you to obtain 100% completion of The Pale Reach.
