New varieties of rods and nets for Ice fish are available in The Pale Reach add-on. This page of the Dredge game guide explains how to purchase and install new fishing equipment.

After reaching Pale Reach in the Dredge DLC, you must install the Ice fishing rods and fishing nets on your boat. On this page of the guide, we explain where you can buy new equipment, what its features are and how much space it will take up on your boat. You'll also learn how to get Radiant Trawl Nets for catching exceptionally large fish.

Reaching Bleak Pontoon in Pale Reach

1. If you want to fish in the Pale Reach expansion, you need the Ice fishing equipment. You can no longer rely on fishing rods and other equipment from the main campaign.
2. Fortunately, you can buy new equipment right after reaching the DLC location. Bleak Pontoon is located in the northern part of Pale Reach (see the image). You can moor your boat here.

List of new equipment in the fishing store

1. Talk to the Travelling Merchant and go to the equipment purchase window.
2. The Glacial Lance rod allows you to catch the Ice and Oceanic fish. It requires 3 free slots.

1. The Barbed Ice Rod is half the price of the previous one, but it allows you to catch Ice fish only. Fish are also caught half as slowly and the fishing rod itself requires 4 free slots.

1. Brittle Trawl Net allows you to catch Ice fish when submerged. They require 4 free slots.

Obtaining Radiant Trawl Net

1. The last of the new types of equipment will be obtained as a reward for completing the Under the Ice quest, which involves delivering all 4 Frozen Hearts to Rock Slab in the north-eastern part of the archipelago. The Under the Ice quest is described in more detail on the DLC Quests page.
2. Radiant Trawl Net is the best net in the game. It allows you to catch the Ice, Coastal, Oceanic and Shallow fish. Additionally, they last 3 days instead of one and have a larger capacity (7x7 fields). This will allow you to catch larger specimens, including Colossal Squid.
