Dredge: Time in the game Dredge guide, tips
In the game Dredge there is a time lapse, but it applies to selected actions. In our guide you will learn when the game clock is stopped, what types of actions cause the passage of time and how to force the acceleration of the passage of time in order to change the time of day.

Dredge is a game in which the time of the day can impact the gameplay. Our guide explains what actions cause the time to pass in the game world, how to speed up the time and change the time of day, when the time stops, and how to use the stopped time for exploration.
- Current time
- Rest - speeding up the passage of time
- Activities influencing time passing
- Spyglass - looking around without time passage
Current time
At the top of the screen you can find information about:
- Current time - it is good for determining how much time is left until sunrise (6:00) or sunset (19:00) in the game world.
- Current day - the game counts how many days have passed since the beginning of the adventure.
Rest - speeding up the passage of time
There is an option in the game to fast-forward the time, and it is related to rest. After reaching any dock, highlight your ship and select the Rest option. By default, the rest lasts until sunrise, but you can interrupt it at any time, for example, by going hunting at night.
Activities influencing time passing
Time in the game world flows while sailing the ship, but this only applies to movement. After the ship stops at sea, the time also stops. You can then look around freely (use the right analog stick or move the mouse), and it will not cause the time to pass (note - this does not apply to rotating the ship!).
The second main activity that causes the passage of time is fishing - fishing and finding Dredge treasures. Avoid making mistakes in mini-games because they can extend the catch, and suddenly it can turn out that the time of day changed while fishing.
The last group of activities that cause the passage of time is installing new components on the ship, e.g. fishing rods, engines, or fishing nets. Before each change, you can find out exactly how long it will take. In the example in the picutre, it will take 4 hours to install the Hydraulic Rod.
Spyglass - looking around without time passage
An excellent time-saving technique is to use a Spyglass. It's in your possession from the very beginning of the game, and you just need to select it from the drop-down menu.
The Spyglass allows you to identify interactive areas on the water from a distance - fishing spots, Dredge treasures, or collectibles. You do not need to swim to these places to find out what they are (information may be limited if, for example, you do not know that fish yet). This is a good technique for planning the places you want to reach with the ship without wasting time on traditional exploration.
