The Iron Rig is the second expansion for Dredge and, similar to The Pale Reach, it expands the base game with new unique content. On this guide page we explain how to install and unlock the DLC, when you can start your adventure with the expansion, and where the Iron Rig is hidden.

Installing and starting The Iron Rig DLC

1. The Iron Rig is the second story expansion for Dredge. Accessing its contents doesn't require the first expansion, The Pale Reach. You don't have to worry about conflicts with both DLCs installed.
2. The described expansion adds the titular oil rig to the world map - you will meet many new NPCs there who can give you missions. Additionally, you can expand the platform and gain access to its new functionalities. This DLC also introduces, among other things, contamination on the world map, new fish species, and new secret items.
3. Make sure you have the latest version of the game - 1.009.000 (patch weighing approximately 755MB) or later. This is required to unlock the content of this DLC. You must also install the expansion and the easiest way to do this is by selecting the Add-ons button in the main menu (image above). This will show you the status of all DLCs you have.
4. You don't have to start a new game - The Iron Rig, identical to The Pale Reach, allows you to continue playing on your old save. This way you can keep, e.g. your current equipment, cargo items, and cash. If you are starting a new game, first get the basic equipment - fishing rods, engines and lighting. This will make it easier for you to tackle the tasks in the add-on.

Where is the Iron Rig?

1. After starting the game with The Iron Rig DLC installed, you will not receive any message about new content or where to access it. You'll have to discover this for yourself.
2. Sail to the north - a drilling platform will appear on the horizon (example in the picture) and you can recognize it, among other things, by the lights mounted on a large drill. They are easier to spot at night.

1. Once you reach the Iron Rig, you can dock at one of the supports to access the missions available in the expansion - the first one is called Getting Power, given by the Foreman.
2. From this point on, the drilling rig will be marked with a large yellow icon visible on the world map.
