Searching for Fractalline Icefish

1. Fractalline Icefish is the name of an Abberation of Icefish, which is a rare variant of Icefish possible to encounter in the Pale Reach archipelago from The Pale Reach expansion.
2. You'll be tasked with finding and catching a Fractaline Icefish during Figure in White sidequest which is described in detail on the DLC Quests page of the guide. Moreover, obtaining it brings you closer to catching all possible fish appearing in the expansion.

Catching an Abberation

1. Fractaline Icefish is an Ice-type fish, which means to be able to catch it, you need to visit Bleak Pontoon and buy one of the new rods from Travelling Merchant. You can buy e.g. Glacial Lance which is shown in the attached screenshot. After buying, make sure to install it on your ship.

1. In The Pale Reach area, there are over a dozen different Icefish fisheries - this is the most common fish from this region. Visit any of them. The screenshots above show an example fishery nearby Bleak Pontoon.

1. Start fishing. You need to count on luck that instead of a standard fish, you'll catch the Aberration - Fractalline Icefish. With one caught, you can return to Hooded Figure to continue with Figure in White quest.
