Nautilus is a unique species of fish to catch in The Iron Rig add-on for the Dredge game. This guide page tells you how to build and mount a suitable rod and how to fish out the Nautilus for the Strange Specimens mission.

How to get a fishing rod to catch a Nautilus in Dredge: The Iron Rig? Our guide explains all the required steps to achieve this. First, you'll need to construct the Infused Winch fishing rod and visiting a suitable fishing spot in Gale Cliffs. Obtaining the Nautilus is part of the Strange Specimens Pursuit related to the rig.

Crafting and installing the fishing rod

1. In the second part of the Strange Specimens Pursuit commissioned by the Scientist from the Science Lab on the rig, one of the 4 new fish to catch is the Nautilus.
2. The problem with catching a Nautilus is that you need Oceanic fishing equipment and the first fishing rod obtained in the described DLC is not enough. Visit the Factory - the rod you need to construct and purchase is the Infused Winch as shown in the screenshot above.

You will need a few things:

1. 1 Ironhaven Crate;
2. 1 Dark Caniste - obtaining these items is described on a separate page How to obtain Dark Canisters?;
3. 1 Hydraulic Rod - it is available for purchase at the Undermarket store on the Iron Rig and costs $369 by default;
4. 150 dollars- you have to pay additionally after delivering the 3 above materials.

You must install the constructed and purchased Infused Winch on your ship.

1. The fishing location is the southeastern region of Gale Cliffs. Take the ship to the black spots(examples marked in the screenshot) - these are places that have been contaminated.

How to catch a Nautilus?

1. Swim into areas covered in dark, thick liquid. While there, look for Oceanic fishing spots and those where the fish icon is identical to the one on the Science Lab screen (see the screenshot).

1. After completing the mini-game you should successfully catch a Nautilus. You can take it to the Scientist and thus, get closer to advancing to the third part of the Strange Specimens Pursuit.
