The Turn Back the Wheels of Time task in Disco Elysium allows Harry to guide his political thoughts towards fascism and nationalism. This walkthrough explains the requirements for unlocking this task, where other fascists are staying and how to complete the scene in front of the mirror.
Unlocking the task
This task refers to fascism - choose dialogue options related to it (racism, Revachol domination, nationalist options, misogyny) in order to finally unlock the Revachol Nationhood thought. You don't have to study it — it's all about finding it.
When you go to sleep at the end of the 3rd day, you will hear your inner voice. Select the dialogue option: I can't give up. I have to keep going. For Revechol. If you reject it, you will not be able to take up the task again.
If you do not see this option, it may mean that you haven't sufficiently developed thoughts related to fascism. Load a save from before going to sleep and try to look for more dialogues related to nationalism among the NPCs you encounter.
Talking to citizens
Once the quest is unlocked, you can start searching for other fascists to chat with them. These are:
- Gary - this is one of the cryptozoologists and you could have encountered him together with Morell while completing the Find Morell, the Cryptozoologist task;
- Rene - this is one of the men playing boule in front of the bookstore;
- Racist lorry driver - he's standing in front of the Fritte kiosk;
- Measurehead - he's standing on a large balcony above the main entrance to the harbor.
In fact, it would be enough just to talk to Measurehead as he will guide you through the further part of the task. However, you must pass the white Suggestion skill check. Talking to others about “turning back time” will make it easier for you to pass the check.
Talk to Measurehead in the office and then talk to the white-haired woman by the lorries.
Reaching the mirror
Find any mirror - it can be a mirror in your hotel room (the one where you started the game) or in a shack in the fishing village.
To successfully complete this task, you must pass the red Endurance skill check. Internalizing the Advanced Race Theory thought (from Measurehead) will help you with this. Passing the check will earn you The Icebreaker achievement. Regardless of the test outcome, the task will now be completed and you'll receive 35 XP.
