Disco Elysium: Split a kilo with Cuno - walkthrough

Unlocking the task

As a reminder - Cuno is the boy who can be encountered near the hanged man i.e. in the courtyard behind Whirling-in-Rags. His attitude towards the detective pair initially will be very negative, but this will change.

After gaining the trust of the boy (Empathy white check), you can talk to him about the drugs. Cuno will reveal that there is speed in his apartment belonging to his father and propose a deal - if you collect the drugs, you'll split the haul evenly between yourselves.

Finding the apartment of Cuno's father

Travel to the northern apartment building (Capeside apartment building). It is north of the place where you've talked to Cuno and you can approach it from the west (from the water side).

Explore the ground floor of the building to find apartment 12 - the entrance is located at the eastern end of the main corridor and we additionally mark it in the screenshot.

To break into the apartment you're going to need Chaincutters - this tool can be obtained by interacting with Kim's car which is parked near the hostel and searching the glove box.

Thanks to the Chaincutters, completing the Interfacing skill check should be much easier.

Taking speed from the apartment

Approach the desk, open the drawer, and collect the speed - it's located in the first room of the apartment.

Interaction with Cuno's father

This is an optional objective of this task. Cuno's father is sleeping in the other room. You cannot in any way awaken or get any useful information from him. The only option is a Perception skill check - completing it will result in an additional reaction from him.

You can also scour the apartment for loot - among others, you'll find a new item (jeans).

Back to Cuno - important choice

Go back to Cuno and decide what to do with the drugs. You have two options:

1. Give the speed bottle to Cuno - this is how you honor the original deal. Cuno will measure two doses of speed and give you back the bottle.
2. Refuse to give the drugs - this won't affect the course of the game that much, but in this case, Cuno won't replace Kim in the later stages of the story when he goes to the hospital (after the confrontation before Whirling-in-Rags). Additionally, this choice will prevent you from unlocking Recruit Detective Kuuno de Rayter trophy.

Regardless of your actions, you'll receive 70XP as a reward for completing the task.
