Disco Elysium: Find the traffic hooligan - walkthrough Disco Elysium guide, walkthrough
Last update: 24 July 2024
On this page of the Disco Elysium guide, you will find a detailed walkthrough of the Find the traffic hooligan side quest. In our walkthrough, we explain how to analyze the scene of the accident as well as how to correctly examine the destroyed vehicle stuck in the ice, in the western part of the map.
Unlocking the task
You can start the task on the 1. or 2. day. You need to reach the water lock, which is located at the elevated drawbridge, south-west of Whirling-in-Rags, near the pawnshop.
In this place, you will find a destroyed billboard. After interacting with it, you can take the Visual Calculus skill check - passing it will allow Harry to reconstruct the events. You will find that the billboard was destroyed by exactly the same vehicle driven by the street hooligan, who jumped over the canal and crashed on the coast.
You can also skip this step and unlock the quest when the wreck is found, as described below.
Locating the vehicle
You can continue this quest only on the third day - you need to unlock access to the coast in the western part of the map. We described the required steps on a separate page: How to get to the western Martinaise?.
Cross the water lock and head north-west of the ice-bound area. Approach the wreckage of the vehicle, which is partially submerged in water. Examine it more closely.
Waiting for the low tide
Sit on the nearby swings and wait for the low tide. At this stage, it doesn't matter what you will talk about, you just need to pass the time.
At some point, Harry will realize that the wrecked vehicle you are looking at was his own and will lose 1 morale point.
Keep in mind that by completing this quest you will “waste” more than 2 hours in total. Make sure you don't have more important tasks to complete on day 3 and/or 4.
After about two hours, the low tide will finally come and Harry and Kim will be able to search the vehicle. When the characters get up from the swings, the task will be automatically completed. You will only get 10 XP.
