Highlight interactive objects
In Disco Elysium, as in other RPGs, players can highlight all interactive objects. When you enter a new area, press Tab or RMB to see which items you can pick up or examine. Start doing this from the very beginning - you will find some clothes in the first room.
Save the game often
In Disco Elysium, you can save without limits - you should definitely take advantage of this. You can do manual, quick and auto saves. It is important to save:
- before investigating an unknown device/item or talking with an important NPC. There is always a chance of getting important choices or unique behavioral options;
- before trying to pass specific skills checks. If you fail, you will not be able to repeat it.
Get a plastic bag and collect bottles
The Yellow Plastic Bag is an extremely useful item, especially at the beginning of Disco Elysium - it will help you earn extra money. You can get the bag right at the beginning of the game - leave the hotel, go past the bookstore and head to the place visible in the above picture. When your character holds the bag in his hand, he can start collecting bottles that can later be sold at the right place.

The passage of time
Time passes a little differently in Disco Elysium - it stops during exploration, but moves on during conversations with the NPCs. You can also speed up the time by sitting on a bench or reading a book (purchased at the bookstore). This can be useful when you need to, e.g. wait until a certain hour to enter a currently locked room.
Run to save time
The main character of Disco Elysium moves quite sluggishly, but you can make Harrier run by pressing the LMB on the destination. By holding down the LMB after double-clicking, you can freely control your character and run across the entire map without having to keep clicking.
Locked chests and containers
You can open locked chests and containers by using a prybar. When you have it in your equipment and are near a chest or container, you will notice that the white outline has turned blue. Inside, you can find useful healing items, clothing, and money.

The main character can die
In Disco Elysium, the main character, Harrier du Bois, can die in many different ways - even during the first few minutes! You need to keep this in mind, especially when attempting to perform some dangerous activity. It is also worth noting that the main character can lose health and morale points during conversations.
Save Skill points
In Disco Elysium, your character will have to perform many skill checks - passing them can make completing certain tasks much easier or let you explore previously inaccessible locations. Before making a dice roll, especially at crucial moments in the game, you can increase your chances by putting points in the appropriate skill.
Light up dark rooms with a flashlight
The flashlight is an extremely useful item that will help your character explore dark rooms, find hidden items and clues necessary to complete certain quests.
