Ask Ruby in the village is a quest from Ruby's search on the coast in the game Disco Elysium. This walkthrough page tells you how to explore the fishing village as part of Ruby's quest and where to find Feld's building mural.

Starting on the third day of Disco Elysium, Harry and Kim must search for Ruby on the west coast. This walkthrough describes the task Ask about Ruby in the village, which is linked to the initial part of the investigation. We explain how to interrogate a washerwoman from the fishing village, how to reach the mural and unlock another quest related to Ruby.

Unlocking the task

This task is a continuation of the Make Titus give up Ruby's location task - we described it on a separate page of this guide.

By interviewing Titus at Whirling-in-Rags, you'll learn that Ruby is supposed to be hiding on the coast, but the man won't know her exact location. Exploring the western part of the map is possible only from the third day onwards, after interacting with the water lock.

Talking to fishermen

Once you reach the west coast, head north-west to the fishing village. In the village you need to talk to the washerwoman (marked in the screenshot). The woman is sitting in the central part of the village.

She will give you a key to the shack on the coast - you can use it to rest for free. Use it to open the building north of the old lady.

Examining the washerwoman's shack

Once inside the shack, examine the loosened board shown in the screenshot above. You have to pass the Visual Calculus skill check and you will find a 9mm bullet.

Go back to the washerwoman to ask her about the latest find. You'll find out Ruby went further up the coast.

Continuing the search for Ruby and reaching the mural

Head north of the fishing village. Your destination is the Feld building with a large mural painted on its south wall (see the screenshot). You can also recognize it by the 2 people standing in front of the mural. You can approach the mural from the east, using the stairs beforehand.

Examine the mural. There is a difficult Shivers skill check associated with it and it's very likely that you will fail it on the first try.

Fortunately, the test can be repeated and just completing it is enough to complete the described task and unlock the next task Look for Ruby on the coast.
