Free run | Moving AC: Syndicate Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
You will spend the majority of the time with the game on foot. Both as Jacob and Evie you can freely run, use ropes, perform various stunts and climb on buildings. Free run is the base of all such activities. In this mode your character is moving by running, avoiding any obstacles on its path.
This mode has two applications. Most of all, it increases character's speed, which makes it a natural way of transporting during most of the time. Additionally, during the free run you can choose whether you want to move up or down. It is important when, for example, running on the roof and, depending on selected option, the character will jump below or start climbing up. It is worth mentioning that this mode is completely safe - the character will never perform a jump that could hurt the player. If you want, you can perform such risky jumps by holding the button responsible for going "down".
Using zipline
During the sequence number 3 you will receive a very useful gadget that will allow you to move between buildings that are so far away from each other that it is impossible to jump between them. In such case you must simply find a point to which you can attach the rope from your equipment. The game will highlight where it is possible by showing a specific icon. This will allow you to get to a far away roof without the need of going down and up again and it will make it much faster to climb on a high building (when standing below, attach the rope and start climbing - Jacob or Evie will be going up much faster.
The rope will be also perfect when planning silent aerial kills. Thanks to the fact that you can attach it to many objects, you can always find a point near the enemies and hang on the rope precisely above them. This will allow you to perform an aerial kill once the opponent will get close enough.
In summary: it is a good idea to use the rope as it makes moving through the city faster and in some cases it can be used to set a trap.
