The Three-Eyed Gate puzzle can be completed while completing The Idol of Ra quest in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. On this page of our guide we will explain how to get to the Three-Eyed Gate in the Ancient Caves in Gizeh, how to solve the Light Chamber puzzle and illuminate the 3 mirrors as well as which symbols should be illuminated and how to unlock the Three-Eyed Gate.

Reaching the Three-Eyed Gate in the Ancient Caves

  1. As part of completing The Idol of Ra main quest in Gizeh, you will complete the Resonance Chamber puzzle and Indy will fall into the Ancient Caves. Explore them and you will reach the room with the Three-Eyed Gate. Here you must solve a large puzzle, the goal of which is to open the gate.
  2. You can also take 2 optional photos there: the entrance to the underground temple and the gate itself (approach it).

The Light Chamber puzzle, how to activate the 3 mirrors?

  1. By default, there is only 1 mirror in the puzzle room reflecting the rays. Your first task will be to unlock 3 mirrors in the main room so that they can reflect light.
  2. There are two closed passages to the sides of the room, with painted symbols. First, examine the left passage. Once you have memorized the symbol, use the central mirror. You must illuminate the correct symbol next to the gate (see the screenshot; it is the first symbol from the top in the right column).
  1. The left passage will be unlocked and you'll be able to investigate it. In the side room, you will find a mirror that you should interact with it. Send a beam through a small hole in the wall, as shown in the screenshot.
  2. As a result, there will now be 2 active mirrors in the main puzzle room instead of just one.
  1. Return to the central hall. Now, examine the right locked passage. Start by examining and remembering its symbol.
  2. The new symbol is more complicated; you will have to use 2 mirrors to illuminate 2 different symbols shown in the screenshot. These are the top symbol from the left column and the middle one from the right column.
  1. The right passage will be unlocked and the new area will now be available for exploration. You will find a pedestal with a missing mirror and a mirror lying on the ground. Lift it, but do not mount it right there.
  1. Bring it back to the main hall and choose the area to the right of the Three-Eyed Gate for that, as shown in the screenshot. There is a second pedestal there, where you can put the new mirror.
  1. As a result, all required mirrors will be there and they will reflect the light as needed (see the screenshot). This will allow you to deal with opening the Three-Eyed Gate.

The Three-Eyed Gate combination puzzle, which symbols should I light up?

  1. The Three-Eyed Gate has 3 locks. You can remove each of them by using the mirrors to illuminate the 3 correct symbols. You can disable locks in any order; you don't have to start with the highest one. After setting each sequence, wait for the respective lock to move to the lower position.
  2. The screenshot shows a combination of 3 symbols required to remove the upper lock: the top and bottom symbols from the left column and the middle one from the right column.
  1. The screenshot shows a combination of 3 symbols required to remove the middle lock: the middle and bottom symbols from the left column and the top one from the right column.
  1. The screenshot shows a combination of 3 symbols required to remove the bottom lock: the bottom symbol from the left column and the middle and bottom ones from the right column.
  2. You should receive a notification confirming that you have solved the puzzle and the exit from this room will be unlocked.
