How to take photos in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle? On this page you will find learn how to buy a camera during your first stay in the Vatican and how to use it correctly. In addition, we explain how to identify good spots for taking photos and how to get the Ecco! trophy.

Buying a camera

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Machine Games, 2024

  1. The camera is one of Indy's most important "gadgets" in the game. We advise you to get it as early as possible so that you won't have to skip locations where it could be used. You won't waste time returning to these locations later on either.
  2. First, start the main quest The Stolen Cat Mummy in the Vatican. By advancing in this quest, you will receive a mission objective to visit the Vatican post office.
  3. The post office is in the eastern part of the main map of the Vatican City: we have marked it in the screenshot. There are several different paths leading there - you can either fight the fascists or sneak around. You can enter the building through the front door (using the key received from Antonio) or the open back window.

  1. You need to meet Ernesto. While speaking with him, you will learn that he has a camera, but he will not give it to you for free. The camera costs 379 lire.
  2. You may already have the required amount of cash. If not, you will need to look for some ways to obtain it. You can find lire as loot in the game world: check every corner.
  3. Most lire will be found in small containers locked with a padlock - an example of such a box is shown in the screenshot. Use a melee weapon (e.g. a baton, a hammer) to break the padlock. You should always find more than 100 lire in each box.

How and what to photograph?

  1. The purchased device can be selected by pressing the key tools button - it's 2 on the keyboard or the up button on the controller's D-pad.
  2. You can take photos of objects, animals and people, although only some of these actions will be rewarded. The so-called Points of Interests are taken into account here. The camera icon in the upper left corner of the screen will let you know that you are near one of them (see the example in the attached screenshot).
  3. Some of the photographed places are treated simply as collectibles, while others may be part of quests or larger activities. For example, after obtaining a camera, you can work on a fieldwork where you'll have to photograph 10 inscriptions or a mystery where you'll have to locate and photograph a cat.

  1. For every Point of Interest you photograph, you'll earn Adventure Points, which you can then spend on unlocking skills from books.
  2. The number of stars indicates how important a photo is - the more stars, the more Adventure Points you can get.
  3. The object or person being photographed must always be in the frame - a white frame and the symbol of the key used for taking a photo must appear on the screen. An example of a correct place to take a photo is shown in the screenshot.

  1. Additional tip: the Exploration books can help you collect photos and other types of collectibles. The first books of this type are sold by Ernesto and they can also be purchased in exchange for lire. You can then refer to the map in your journal and switch to the selected Book to highlight any secrets that are yet to be discovered.
  2. Unlocking the camera also allows you to unlock the Ecco! trophy very easily. Remain in the Vatican post office building and photograph Ernesto, ignoring his request.
