Last update:
In the optional quest Lost in the Past in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, you'll return to Marshall College as part of a hallucination experienced by Indy. On this page of the guide, you will find descriptions of the 3 college puzzles: we have discussed the puzzle with artifacts from the lecture hall, the puzzle with the mural and the wounds of Christ, and the puzzle with finding room XI.
- Hallucinations at Marshall College
- Lecture Hall puzzle: how to arrange the artifacts?
- Christ puzzle, how to set the switches?
- Room 11 puzzle, where to find the XI door?
Hallucinations at Marshall College
- Lost in the Past is an optional quest in the Sukhothai region and once you complete it, you will reach the Nephilim Cave. As a result of investigating the Nephilim Stone Construction, Indy will begin to experience hallucinations and will be returned to Marshall College.
- You have to follow the halls, which will loop. Along the way, you'll experience conversations with various characters and various scenes. There are also 3 smaller puzzles, which you need to complete in order to end the hallucinations and return to the Nephilim Cave. All the puzzles are described below.
Lecture Hall puzzle: how to arrange the artifacts?
- Follow the halls until a side room opens where you will meet Brody. He will give Indy an item: A Message From the Past.
- Look carefully at the photo you received - it contains the solution to the puzzle you will tackle in just a moment.
Return to the main hall and proceed further. Along the way, another door to the right will open and you will enter a lecture hall. You'll see three white circles on the desk there - these are slots for placing artifacts.
All 3 necessary artifacts can be found in the same room:
- Place the cat figure on the left white circle.
- Place the head on the middle white circle.
- Place the medallion on the right white circle (open Indy's bag if you accidentally put it in your inventory).
- The last part of the puzzle is to photograph the tablet, which says Heh-zam-eesh, the Adamic Word. The remaining two words can be found in other locations around the college.
Christ puzzle, how to set the switches?
- At college, you will have to repeat the Christ wounds puzzle from the Vatican; we have described it on a separate page of the guide.
- Eventually, you will reach Father Antonio and the Christ mural with switches. Start by picking up a bottle of wine and pouring its contents into a bowl. This will stop the switches on the mural.
There is a wall of photos in the room; thanks to them you can recall how the puzzle was solved back in the Vatican.
The repeated solution to the puzzle is shown in the screenshot:
- Upper left switch - set it to position II;
- Upper right switch - set it to position II;
- Middle switch - set it to position III;
- Lower left switch - set it to position III;
- Lower right switch - set it to position IV.
Similar to the original version of this puzzle, the wall will rotate and unlock a new passage for you.
Room 11 puzzle, where to find the XI door?
- You can solve the last big puzzle after you start walking on the ceiling. You'll learn that Indy needs to find room 11. A slight difficulty is that the room number is indicated by Roman numerals - it will be XI.
- Follow the main halls and examine the pedestals you pass. Ignore the pedestal with the number V, but take the number X with you.
- Continue further and check the rooms on the right as you pass. On one of the signs next to the locked door, you will notice the number I.
- Add the X number you've just picked up, which will give you number XI. This will allow you to go inside and photograph the Adamic word, Heh'k-dashu.
