Indiana Jones Great Circle: The Gear Trains puzzle (The Blessed Pearl)

While completing The Blessed Pearl quest in the Sukhothai region in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, you'll have to solve a puzzle involving two gear trains. This walkthrough lists all the steps required to solve it. You will learn how to obtain all the gear trains and how to arrange them as well as how to start them and how to unlock the exit from the puzzle room.

Reaching the gear trains

1. The Gear Trains puzzle is an obligatory activity in The Blessed Pearl quest in the Sukhothai region. You must first purchase a Rebreather and then focus on the mission objective of finding Jack.
2. Indy and Gina will not find the entrance to the temple right away after reaching the indicated location. You must use a Rebreather and make a long dive. After swimming through a large underwater cave, you will reach a room with gear trains. Solving the puzzle is necessary to unlock the passage and rejoin Gina.

Left gear train puzzle, how to arrange the cogwheels?

1. The premise of the main puzzle is to activate both left and right gear trains. You can deal with them in any order.
2. You can take a photo of the left gear train; you will determine that a number of cogwheels are missing, making it impossible to start the mechanism.

1. There are 2 small cogwheels in the area: you can pick them up and store them in your inventory for later use.
2. You must also find the missing third small cogwheel. Explore the main chamber to squeeze through the opening next to the gear train, as shown in the screenshot.

1. In the side area, do a little climbing to reach a higher ledge with a small cogwheel. You should now have 3 small cogwheels in your inventory.
2. Don't leave the location just yet. Instead, grab the hook with your whip as shown in the screenshot and pull the whip to set the mechanism in motion.

You can now return to the left gear train in the central hall. It has interactive slots (example in the screenshot), in which you can place cogwheels:

1. Small cogwheels can be selected from your inventory;
2. Large cogwheels must be picked up and carried to the interactive slots (they cannot be added to Indy's inventory).

The attached screenshot shows how to solve the left gear train puzzle:

1. The 2 large cogwheels are indicated by points 1 in the screenshot;
2. The 3 small cogwheels are indicated by points 2 in the screenshot.

Once the cogwheels are properly positioned, pull the lever, which will cause the statue to hide underneath the floor. That will complete the first part of the puzzle. Your game will also be saved at this point.

Right gear train puzzle, how to arrange the cogwheels?

1. The right gear train can also be photographed. Different cogwheels will be needed to activate the mechanism here as well.

The attached screenshot shows the solution of the right gear train puzzle:

1. The 1 large cogwheels is indicated by point 1 in the screenshot (the second large cogwheel is not necessary);
2. The 3 small cogwheels are indicated by points 2 in the screenshot.

Just like before, pull the lever after setting up the cogwheels. The second statue will be hidden as previously.

1. After completing both parts of the puzzle, you will receive a notification and you'll be able to interact with the rotating mechanism from the screenshot. This will trigger a cutscene, after which you will advance to the next part of the quest.
