The Giant Cogwheels puzzle is one of the puzzles in The Kid Who Vanished fieldwork in Sukhothai in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. On this page of the guide, you will learn how to get to Aran, where the giant cogwheels are located, how to get 2 pipe segments, and how to properly space the pipes to ensure water flow inside the Warrior Temple at Wat Si Sawai.

Finding Aran and raising the platform

  1. As part of The Kid Who Vanished fieldwork, you must visit the Wat Si Sawai location in the southwestern part of Sukhothai. Once there, you must eliminate or avoid the fascists to ultimately find the entrance to the underground Warrior Temple.
  1. While crossing the temple, Gina and Indy must use two handles simultaneously, which will unlock the further passage.
  1. In the new room, you will find the first pipe segment. This introductory mini-puzzle is very simple - place the pipe segment in an empty slot in the floor. It must also face west (see the screenshot above).
  2. You will cause water to flow through here. Go to the lever and keep going forward to a new location. In one of the next rooms you will meet Aran, who will be standing high above you. This will unlock the mission objective of raising the platform and getting to where the boy is.
  1. Find a climbing spot nearby and go the linear path. Along the way, you have to jump onto the big wheel platform (see the screenshot above) to get them moving. Make a second jump, go further and jump down to the place with the second pipe segment. Here you will start a larger puzzle.

Cogwheels puzzle, how to align the pipes?

  1. The mission objective of raising the platform is still active in the journal. The giant cogwheels should now be in front of you (see the screenshot attached). You can take photos of them right away. Your task will be to set the cogwheels in motion.
  1. Start by finding the valve on the wall (see the screenshot) - using it will unblock the water supply to this room.
  1. Lift a straight pipe segment lying on the ground and take it to the slot next to the locked passage. The pipe must face north (see the screenshot above) - it's the only way to make water flow correctly through the pipe segment. After that, the side room will be unlocked.

There is a corner pipe segment in the side room: remove it from the slot and return with it to the main room. Now you'll need to do two things:

  1. Remove the straight pipe segment from the current slot and place it in the other slot. Additionally, make sure that the pipe is facing north (screenshot 1).
  2. Place the corner pipe segment in the first slot, the same one that opened the side room earlier. Additionally, make sure that the pipe is facing west (screenshot 2).
  1. Correct positioning of both pipes will cause the cogwheels to move and Gina will comment on it (see the screenshot above).
  1. Go to the handle of the large mechanism. Indy and Gina have to start pushing it to change its position.
  1. Doing this successfully should reveal the lever shown in the screenshot. It is right in front of one of the working cogwheels. Pulling it will set the main cogwheel from the large mechanism in motion.
  2. Aran will thank you for your help. You can now use the newly unlocked passage and resume your exploration of the Warrior Temple.
