- Reach Ishikawa's dojo
- Explore the dojo
- Follow Sensei Ishikawa
- Hit the candles
- Scout fort Nakayama
- Surprise the Mongolian patrol
- Eliminate the rest of the Mongols in the fort.
- Search fort Nakayama
Reach Ishikawa's dojo
This is one of the 2 main quests you can do after completing the prologue. To begin this quest, you must visit Hiyoshi village. Go to the inn and ask the NPC marked by the game about Ishikawa. Follow him to a nearby hill.
After another conversation, look up and locate Sensei Ishikawa's dojo. You learn from the NPC that this is where Sensei should be. Climb to get there.
Explore the dojo
At the dojo, you'll find signs of a fight - search the location. Inside, examine the broken equipment and blood stains. The most important discovery is the footprints. Get out of the building and start following them. Reach the smaller building where you will meet Sensei Ishikawa.
Follow Sensei Ishikawa
Go on a linear journey together with Ishikawa. You will encounter a group of Mongols - dealing with them shouldn't be difficult. Soon after winning the fight, you reach a small campsite - there are 3 interactive points to examine here.
Shortly after the journey resumes, Sensei Ishikawa will give you a Half Bow.
Hit the candles
You can test your new weapon right away by completing a tutorial on using the bow. Aim the bow by holding the L2. Try to hit all 3 lanterns with candles. When aiming at more distant targets, remember to aim slightly higher, as the arrows don't fly in a straight line.
Scout fort Nakayama
Continue your journey. Reach the hill adjacent to fort Nakayama and find a place where you can begin reconnaissance. Look for the semi-circles and find areas suitable for ambushing the Mongols - look at the hanging lamp, hornet nests, archers practicing in the courtyard and the red explosive barrel.
Surprise the Mongolian patrol
Once you regain control of Jin, you will have an opportunity to attack your opponents by surprise. You can use the knowledge gained from reconnaissance:
- Shoot the nests to send the hornets over your opponents.
- Shoot the red barrels to make them explode.
- Hit the lamps so they fall on the enemies.
You can also focus on attacking the opponents directly. There's a big supply of arrows on the hill, so don't worry if you miss.
Eliminate the rest of the Mongols in the fort.
After dealing with the patrol, go down the hill and head towards the Fort. Here you have complete freedom in how you want to behave - you can keep using the bow (it's worth killing archers occupying roofs and observation towers), eliminate enemies in direct combat or try to stab them in the back.
Pay special attention to the leader of the fort - avoid his red attacks and expect him to be more resistant.
Search fort Nakayama
There are several locations within the fort to explore:
- Watch the arrows stuck in the targets at the shooting range.
- Find the scroll inside one of the buildings.
- Look at the women's kimono in one of the buildings.
Go back to Sensei and listen to the conversation with a peasant. The quest will be over soon.
Rewards for completing the mission: Legend increased (xp) - bigger bonus, archery mechanic unlocked, Half Bow, The Tale of Lady Masako main quest unlocked, Blood on the Grass main quest unlocked, The Sensei and the Student side quest unlocked.
