Iki Island is a completely new region, explored independently from the island of Tsushima. We've described the way o get to the new location on a separate page Iki Island - how to unlock?.
Iki Island is a fairly extensive location - its map is shown in the picture above. It is roughly the size of one of the regions in the base game campaign (which includes 3 regions you can explore). You should spend roughly at least a dozen hours on the Iki Island.
The most important elements of the DLC are:
- New island for free exploration - you will discover its subsequent areas along with your progress in the game, just like the base game regions.
- New main and side quests (stories) - you'll complete the main storyline on Tsushima island independently of the base game story. You don't have to wait until you finish the main storyline on Tsushima to go to Iki island.
- New unique locations on the map - Just like in the base game, they are marked with question marks and you will discover the location type once you get close to it.
- New collectibles and gear - You can equip Jin with new items and find secrets to complete 100% of the game.
- New activities on the map - In addition to Iki Island, you can encounter completely new types of locations, such as wildlife sanctuaries or archery challenges. They also feature unique rewards.
- New horse skill - Horse Charge - You will unlock it during one of the first quests on Iki Island, and the skill can help you attack enemy groups.
