Ghost of Tsushima: Best Charms Ghost of Tsushima guide, walkthrough
Last update: 22 July 2020
On this page of our guide to Ghost of Tsushima you can find a list of recommended charms that can be used by main character. Every equipped charm guarantees some kind of passive bonus. Using good charms can make it much easier to pass the game and stay alive.
What are the Charms?
- Charms are special items that, when equipped, provide some passive bonuses to statistics. For example, they may increase damage or add a chance to poison enemies on hit.
- Jin can have up to 6 charms equipped at the same time. You can activate, that is, equip 2 large charms and 4 minor charms.
- Initially, only 2 charm slots are available. Further slots can be unlocked by finding fox holes and following foxes that lead you to Inari Shrines. It is worthwhile to regularly locate all Inari Shrines (information about their location can be found in our world atlas) in order to start using 6 different passive bonuses as early as possible.
- Each charm has a specific specialization that indicates its applicability. It can be, for example, a stealth charm, defense charm or ranged charm.
How can I get charms?
Charms can be obtained mainly as rewards for such activities as:
- Completing quests - especially side quests.
- Reaching Shinto shrines - each location of this type will require you to complete a longer climbing sequence.
You can always check the description of the task or location and choose any activity that may get you a charm.
It is worth noting that not every charm is unique. Some appear in the game world in several copies or in several versions (for example, version II will provide a better passive bonus than version I).

Charm of Azumi-No-Isora
This charm ensures that arrows won't generate any noise upon contact with the target. Setting it as active can make it significantly easier for you to silently eliminate enemies by using the bow.
Charm of Amaterasu
This charm allows you to recover an small amount of health by killing opponents. It can make it much easier for you to keep the main character alive and you won't have to heal the main protagonist that often.
Charm of Izanami
This charm allows you to regain more health points after using the Iron Will skill (you must have it unlocked by spending some technique points). This simply means that once the hero gets resurrected he will have half of the health bar available. This is a very useful feature if you play the game on higher difficulty level.
Charm of Mizu-No-Kami
This charm makes it easier to parry or dodge enemy attacks, even in the perfect form. Take an interest in it if you have problems pressing the L1 and Circle buttons at the right moments to activate parry or dodge action.
Charm of Hoori-No-Mikoto
This charm allows you to perform silent kills from the grass and remain unnoticed. This means that if you kill an opponent who entered the high grass it won't be noticed by other enemies. This can make it much easier for you to secure hostile locations by sneaking around.
Reward: Charm of Inari
This charm allows you to find more crafting materials - supplies, predator skins and leathers, bamboo and wood. This allows you to purchase Jin's weapon and armor upgrades much faster and buy more disposable items. Unfortunately, the bonus does not apply to all varieties of crafting materials, but only to those listed above.
Charm of Hidden Blades
This charm allows you to throw two additional kunai knives when this gadget is activated. This can be very useful for weakening or eliminating larger groups of opponents.
Charm of Ferocity
This charm increases the average level of damage inflicted in melee combat. You'll need this throughout the whole game, both in direct combat and stealth assassinations executed with the tanto dagger.
Charm of Inari's Might
This charm greatly increases the health of the hero and the amount of damage you inflict on enemies. Both of these bonuses to Jin's statistics are extremely helpful.
Charm of Precision
This charm increases the damage inflicted with the bow by a moderate amount. This can be especially useful when you often like to use the short bow. There are higher chances that even a single attack will severely weaken or kill the opponent.
Charm of Resistance 2
This charm reduces the received damage by a moderate amount. This is useful during the entire game, but the best effects can be noticed if you are playing on higher difficulty levels. Jin will find himself on the verge of death less often.
Charm of Vitality
This charms lengthens the main character's health bar by a moderate amount. Improving the hero's vitality reduces the risk of being seriously weakened or suddenly killed.
Charm of Unyielding 2
This charm significantly reduces the received injuries if Jin has less than 50% of his health points. This is another charm that is useful for fighting bosses and playing the game on higher difficulty levels.
Charm of Silence
This charm significantly reduces the detection of the hero, and also increases the regeneration rate of Resolve. Each of these bonuses for statistics is very useful.
Charm of Divine Healing 2
This charm allows you to recover 30% more health while healing if you have less than half of your health points. You can heal a severely wounded hero much more effectively.
