The main way to get Experience Points (EXP) and advance to higher experience levels in FF7 Remake is winning fights. After leveling up to a higher level, the character's stats increase (HP, MP, attacks strengths, etc.).

Experience points (EXP) isn't the only thing you get after defeating opponents. After the fight, you can receive the following rewards:

1. Exp - experience points that help you unlock the next level.
2. Gil - an in-game currency that allows you to buy new items in stores.
3. Items - various items, e.g. Potions and accessories.
4. Weapons proficiency. The more you use a given weapon, the more proficient you are with it. When you reach a certain level, you unlock, among others, new attacks for weapons and special skills for your hero.
5. AP (Exp matter) - Matter, special bullets in weapons also level up. This allows you to use more powerful abilities such as Fire - Fira - Firaga.
