Final Fantasy VII Remake Intermission: Combat Simulator - walkthrough
On this page of the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intermission guide you'll find a detailed walkthrough for Combat Simulator side quest.
Chadley is a youngster and a genius when it comes to researching Materia. He has a special device called Combat Simulator which allows conducting virtual fights against dangerous opponents.
Beginning of task
Combat Simulator begins with a conversation with a boy named Chadley. His location is shown in the screenshot above.
Defeat Ramuh
Ramuh is a dangerous opponent, especially if you are fighting him on your own. Before starting the battle, procure Healing Materia, so you can heal Yuffie if the necessity arises.
Below you can find useful data regading Ramuh:
- Weakness: Wind;
- Greater Resistances: Ice, Fire;
- Lesser Resistance: none;
- Immunities: Poison, Silence, Sleep, Slow, Stop, Berserk;
- Absorbed Elements: Lightning.
If you are a novice player who doesn't fully understand FF7 Remake combat mechanics, wait before conducting the battle until you have Sonon in your party.
Start the battle by throwing a few shuriken at your opponent, as he will stand in one place and cast Levin Arrows which can be easily avoided by performing a sidestep.
After casting Levin Arrows, Ramuh should teleport to Yuffie and start hitting her with his staff - he will perform one or up to three strikes. Each staff attack should be blocked by pressing R1 in the right moment.
Each successful block protects Yuffie from getting damage and fills ATB and Stagger gauges.
During the battle, make use of boss' weaknesses and cast Windstorm as often as possible, especially after a successful block, when Ramuh is very close to Yuffie.
If you have two ATB gauges at your disposal, use Windstorm to increase their effect and deal serious damage, filling Stagger gauge of your enemy.
While moving around the arena, watch out for projectiles fired by Ramuh and don't stand in areas covered by a purple static field - if you step on them, Yuffie will be immobilized for a brief moment.
At a certain moment during the battle, Ramuh will start summoning shining balls that will fill him with purple energy, allowing him to perform a special attack. Ramuh will start firiing laser beams from his body that will rotate around his axis. The balls doesn't have a lot of health, so deal with them quickly.
Beams can be avoided in a few ways - by staying out of their range, performing a dodge, or using block (R1) right before being hit.
Use Limit Break once Ramuh is Staggered. When staggered, the enemy may lose up to 1/3 of his health, possibly ending the fight.
Reward
After winning the fight, you'll be automatically logged out of Combat Simulator. Aside from a lot of experience points, you receive a reward - Ramuh Materia - only Summon that can be acquired in the course of Intermission.
