Through the Rubble / Words of Hope

Go forward until you reach Barret. Continue through town to reach Aerith's house. You can talk to people you meet on the way, visit vendors, or talk to Chadley. When you're there, go upstairs to visit sleeping Marlene.

Checking on Friends

After the cut-scenes, get out of the house and run to the tunnel you were traveling through with Aerith. Fight more enemies and go through the mechanical hands you controlled in Chapter 9. At some point, you'll come across a Grungy Bandit - bring your enemy to a staggered state and use Steal Materia to steal the Champion Belt.

Crawling to the Surface

Once you get out of the sewers, consider visiting an arms dealer to buy a new weapon for Barret- Big Bertha. Use the pipe to get across.

Home is Where the Heart Is

Talk to Marle and walk through the rubble towards your pub. Follow the cat and enter the hole - after a while, the floor will collapse and you will fall down.

In Solitude

You are now playing as Barret - you can destroy boulders to unlock the passage further. Destroy enemies with the help of your cannon and keep moving forward. Climb up ladders, destroy debris in your path and continue forward.

At some point, you reach Tifa, but the road is blocked by bat-like monsters. Drop a cargo on them to chase them away and join Tifa.

After joining forces, fight encountered enemies and continue on towards the exit, destroying, among others, big windmills found along the way. On your way you will come across a cage that you can open - it's worth it because inside you will find Warding Materia.

Finding Wedge / Return

Time to face a boss - Failed Experiment. During the encounter, you'll control Aerith and Barrett. A walkthrough for the fight can be found in a dedicated chapter of this guide.

After the fight, destroy the wall and go to Wedge. Walk forward a few steps, and the chapter will end.
